Clarke, bar the stupid red card, has had a very good start to the season, he's caused defenders all sorts of problems and held the ball up really well. People still seem to love to hate Clarke on here, we saw how good he can be when he gets a proper chance like at the end of last season.

sssshhhh, it's not cool to praise Leon. He's an ex-pig y'know.

I love Clarke, can't you remember my arguments with Dronnie Blade about him? They're the stuff of forum legend.

His chance that went begging at Middlesbrough sums it up for me. When Freeman cut it back to him, rather than whip it into the bottom corner first time he decided to take a touch, then another, then hit it with his left which was blocked. In League 1 he would've hit it first time, or maybe even got away with them 2 touches. I think his championship days are done, Lavery's and Hanson's will never arrive and Ched... well...

That leaves Sharp and Donaldson for me. We're pinning a lot of hope on a recently injury prone 33 year old, that's my worry. Great player in his day but has he still got it?

So on the basis of one wasted opportunity you are writing him off for this season? Thankfully Wilder isn't nearly as reactive as you are.

It doesn't just leave Sharp and Donaldson because we have the other 3 players you mention which you have quickly written off before they have been given a chance. They will now get their chance until January, and if it isn't good enough we will strengthen then.

They aren't going to be good enough.

Bookmark this, print it out, stick it on your wall. Whatever.

Come back to me in January when it's very apparent. For the record it's 4, Hanson is not to be forgotten about in the not good enough camp.
