Bert can only think of one.

Terry Shithead-Curran.

I instantly loose any respect for a man with a double barreled surname. Is that just me?

Thats inverted snobbery for you Borbokis,

The double-barreled classes loose respect
for us because we can't spell lose correctly. It keeps us in our place, it keeps them in power!

I'm coming more from the angle of men who have been forced to take on their overbearing wives surnames.

Just checked that back and there doesn't seem to be any spelling mistakes, hope that's ok for you. I'd call you a pedant but you'd probably just pick me up on my poor sentence construction and lack of oxford commas. Good day sir.

I wouldn't be changing my name if i got married, wouldn't expect the future wife to change hers either.

I'll be the 'proud' bearer of a double barrelled surname when I get married later this year, although it's not something that's been forced on me, it's something we agreed to do many moons ago.

My missus is a Bumstead and I'm a Crapper so it would be rude not to really....

and you missed the mistake.

It is about being understood.

my Missus has the same surname as me so it was never an option.

I'm sure nobody knew what i was on about, thanks for all your help, you're a star

I kind of hope you're being tongue in cheek because if not you are an actual twat

I was always taught you should never precede 'and' with a comma.

Does John Joe O'Toole count?

Although the thread has digressed slightly, how about Nathan Mendez-Laing?

well me too, but my english teacher was a doddery old woman who always corrected my "surprise" to suprise" so i didnt take much notice of the silly moo. in my opinion, the comma is a free-spirited old soul, and can be used whenever it feels like it should be there!
