following the closure of the transfer window, I'm still reading the usual posts about needing "pace".
Got me thinking, those pace yearners amongst you....
You want someone lightening quick, fair enough. when he gets to the oppositions box, what does he do? Apparently we don't have any pace, so he either waits for everyone else (including defenders) to catch up. Thus defeating the point really. Or he goes it alone, Michael Owen style (cost?)
So do we really need 3/4/5 players with pace, ala Man U when they had Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Cole, Yorke etc all maurauding forward. (Again cost?)
What I'm hearing is we want a forward (£1mil), with pace (another £1mil), 15+ goals a season (£5m).
Then Wilder demands hard work/trackback, no ego etc (£2m) total around £9m? = Asambalonga?
We all want players not on their way down collecting a pay cheque, and no big name Charlie's (piggy style)
So in summary that's a level headed hard working quick forward, with no ego, can get 15 goals a season and won't break the wage structure and destabilise the dressing room. Around £10k per week?
Suggestions below please.
