C&Ped for the clickless, at the whims of work's IT admins:

United have made an emergency loan signing in time for Tuesday evening's encounter with Blackpool.

Kevin Blackwell has brought in Derby defender Paul Connolly on a 28-day loan and he goes straight into the squad for the Championship clash with Ian Holloway's side.

The 26-year-old right-back has been out of favour at Pride Park recently but is a former captain of the Rams. He made his name at Plymouth Argyle, where he clocked up over 170 appearances.

Captain Chris Morgan is suspended for the fixtures against Blackpool and Doncaster Rovers for picking up his 10th booking of the season against QPR at the weekend.

Connolly will wear United's number 31 shirt.

Hello Blades, Derby fan here. See you've taken Connors on loan, have to say he's a pretty poor player. Clough has brought in a strong of right backs on loan this season (Stoor from Fulham, Hunt from Bolton) and even played Paul Green, a central midfielder ahead of Paul Connolly. Plymouth moved to take him on loan, but the player refused to go. Apparently on big wages, we're looking to move him out in the summer.

He's basically a League One standard player, doesn't really offer anything going forward, but prepared to chuck himself in front of stuff- or at least he was last season. Terrible at stopping crosses coming in, makes Jordon Stewart look like Roberto Carlos really.

Enjoy!

Nice to know that at least he'll slot straight into the team :D

Can we sue Derby for 'crimes against full-backs and transferring them to SUFC'.

I thought we'd got a shafting having taken Jordan Stewart but sounds like we're going for the full compliment.

Give the lad a chance , Bob Booker, wernt up to much until he became a Blade. No on second thoughs lets boo him before he as had a kick, cos like the team our fans are rubbish ,Quinny on saturday was doing well until he looked to have been hurt , what did our fans do, yes cheer , which affected him and his game ,well done the boo boys .

This guy probably knows better than us but perhaps it just didnt happen for him at Derby?

My old work mate is a Plymouth fan and used to go on all day about him. He used to tell me was top drawer and at the time when Holloway was manager (the days of Ebanks-Blake, Buszaky etc.) he rated him as their best player.

Can't be that bad if he was one of the stars of that team. We will find out anyway. I don't see why Jordan Stewart gets so much stick. He's hardly played!

There was a period, a few years ago, when the announcemnt of the oppo team name by name would be greeted with a Mark and Lard-esque cry of "Whoooooooooooo??"

Are we the only fans who do it to our own team?

That isn't a good thing when you're on the pitch though!

(Thought I'd get it in before anyone else :D I don't think Stewart has done that badly...)

I also don't think he is a fullback, just being played there out of lack of other options.

Do you reckon Bob? I can't see Stewart as a midfield player. Watched him on the left side of midfield for United once (can't remember what game it was). He came on in that position and looked totally uncomfortable. Also I could sware he used to play left back regularly for Watford?!

I don't know, only the lad knows himself I suppose.

I'll own up to saying "whoooo?" when Lowton's name came up at the weekend.

The fella next to me then turned round and said it was his mate's son. Oops!

alright fella's (and lasses if there are any on here) just saw that you have conners on loan now he was a decent player when we first got him and earned the captaincy but unfortunately bottled it and completeley lost the plot under pressure lost the captaincy and unfortunately for him lost his place in the team not long after nigel doesn't see him in his plans what so ever that has been made clear and i suppose the successfull loans spells of hunt (bolton) and stoor (fulham) haven't helped his cause either and flatulent bob you are right he is a right back but can play cb as he has for us a few times due to injuries and haveing no-one else fit enough to play the position and what do you lot think to jordan stewart then? wasn't really that successful at derby seemed to want to get forward more rather than defender scored a cracking goal for us tho lol i remember him saying he also wanted a move to the mls so you never know he could go over the pond soon as long as there are no doors in his way :D (he has an ocd about door handles and can't touch them wierd i know)

Not sure about this one. Don't forget that we were initially led to believe Keith TREACY was a lazy player by a Blackburn fan , who then couldn't understand how he played so well for us .
If the lad genuinely puts some effort in tonight instead of just making up the numbers ....I'll not grumble .

WHAT??????

Quinny was bloody poor for just about the full 90.

Are you SERIOUSLY telling us that his form dipped after some cheering after an injury? Jesus, let's wrap him in a blanket and make sure he never gets near a football pitch again. Obviously in the wrong business.

As for Paul Connolly, all I see is a bit of banter, started by someone who has seen him this season. Hardly cause for the "no let's boo him" comment.
Or am I guilty of not taking things seriously enough and we are actually slagging the bloke down?

Personally, I think it's nice to see a new face.

he isn't lazy mate just not very good or he hasn't been very good of late as i said he was captain but seemed to completley loose it and buckle under the pressure even when he had the captaincy stripped he didn't seem to regain form maybe this move is just what he needed i have no idea why he didn't go to plymouth when offered tbh either

So Lowton's shit then?

To be fair to the lad, he probably needs to do a full pre-season with the first-team squad. Throwing him in at the deep end could make him, but it could also set him back. Put him on the bench for now and maybe he could play the odd 15-minute cameo role should the need arise.
