I meant to have a look at the Pathe site when it got mentioned on HIGNFY that the whole catalogue was being put on FOC.
"Traditional Cup Fighters"
"Jack" Dodds?
Why do all the Arsenal players look over 60?
Yes, renamed for the day apparently, although if your real name is Ephraim, you'd probably settle for Jack or Jock. You may know, but Jock only died in 2007, aged 92. I had no cause to realise that Eddie Hapgood's real name was actually Edris, never heard that name before.
A quick Google shows that each team had 9 English and 2 Scottish players out of 11 and that's not likely to happen again any time soon, we'd have at least five of our Caledonian cousins.
There's also a really subtle jibe at the very end when it says that Arsenal brought the cup southwards because the 1935 winners were our illustrious neighbours......

Yes, I knew that Jock's given name was Ephraim, and that he died in 2007. I had the privilege of meeting him in 2002 when he signed 100 of the limited edition prints of my painting of the 1936 Cup Final.

Jock was apparently, to coin a phrase, a little bit woo, a little bit way. Even at 87, he looks it![]()

I shook his hands when he was book signing along with Denis Clareborough. I think in the 100 years reunion (v Preston in April 1989) I saw him from a distance in the South Stand sporting a pony tail hairstyle and he was wearing a big hat. My Uncle Pete was a Wendy fan but he loved Jock Dodds and he would pretend to be him when he was a nipper playing football in the streetYes, I knew that Jock's given name was Ephraim, and that he died in 2007.
