A strange one for me. Unless there's a real chance of extending his stay, I donlt get why you'd break up your center half partnership for a few games.

He gave them the second, but it didn't look to be because if rustiness, just an error. That's the way it goes.

In Mcarthy's first interview he said he was in two minds as to whether to come - mainly because of leaving his young family in London - it's a fair and expected comment from him to make but not the sort of comment I want to hear.

I need to hear commitment to OUR cause and not some excuse to get another clubs player fit and ready for what ever NW wants.

NC said last week that he didn't expect Higdon to be properly ready until Xmas - FFS, who makes these decisions? and if that is the case then someone like Mccarthy wouldn't be ready while fucking easter !

Give McCarthy a one way ticket back to London he don't give a fuck about our plight

And recall Butler straight away bite the bullet Clough you've dropped a right bollock!

Completely retract the above its obvious Butlers a bad un .

Hope we can get him on a seasons loan or better still permanent

We definitely need him for the season. I get the feeling we wont be seeing Collins or Butler in a Blades shirt again.

He has been a poor signing and would admit that himself. We needed a striker anyway but that's not Paddy's fault of course. Bizarre really, especially the give-away goal at Chesterfield. Good luck to the lad though.

I think we all had hopes of him cementing together a fragile back four that had no central core of leadership since Harry left.

Don't forget he came just after Swindon tonked five past us where grip in defence was non existent.

I also assume that Cloughy had hoped that Butler would provide that kind of influence, but clearly his influence was too strong.

I also hoped an experienced pro would be good for the youngsters in training and would take on a calming and mentoring Senior pro role. Again, the reality meant he didn't give us this and stayed in London all week. Hardly, value for money and harder for the other players to gel around him.

So, given the recent performances, the fact he didn't provide the full range of senior pro influences and the emergence of Bashenbauer it makes great sense to say thank you and bye!

Big question now is where will his wages go...

Looked an excellent pairing with Basham at Crewe, but then again they didn't play with a centre forward, and they don't score many goals(funny that).
Poor since then so a good call not to extend loan.

I think he's been an ok rather than poor signing. Obviously best days behind him but not as shit for us as some think. He served a purpose and someone of similar ilk may well come in New Year.

In other news, the unbreachable Basham-MvEveley partnership has now conceded 2 in 2...

Does that mean we will be extending his loan to cover Bashams red card?

We've just stated we don't want him haven't we ?
Can't blame him for going home
