From Cally Thistle.

Gone from 16/1 to to 3/1 in a few hours.

Interesting.
Certainly done amazing things in Scotland.

Not surprising that a few bets have been put on as he's in the news following the Scottish Cup win and the Blade's current obsession with Scottish players.

Aren't they in Europe? And after the game they said that he was concentrating on Europe

Not happening, all because of a silly rumour doing the rounds in Scotland. #falseinfo

now 2 to 1.

Scottish tick
Cheap tick
6 foot oh beggar.

Done well everywhere he has gone .
Promotion at Falkirk
Led Hibs to Europe.
Hartlepool for 6 months, they still got relegated but joined them when on a 20 match with out a run. Picked up a Manager of the Month award.
Cally just won the Scottish Cup .

Nickname Yogi..

Could be a very exciting appointment!
or not! :)

Do wonder how he will have contacts for scouting players and getting Premier League loans on.

He directed The Breakfast Club....

mmmmmm ... Molly Ringwald....

John "Yogi" Hughes. Didn't he score a hat trick against us at Palace in the 60's and all three goals were in Match of the Day "Goals of the month".

That was a bad day for us travelling Blades. My mate caused a fracas on the way out he was so pissed off; in those days all fans intermingled. I looked round and saw this big pile of thrashing bodies and my mate calmly slipped out of the side of the pile and calmly walked on.

Hughes must be older than me, nothing wrong with that!!! :(

Wrong one.

Bookies Odds are so misleading
People get a sniff of a rumour and chuck money at them. Fingers crossed that's what's happened here

I doubt there's anything to this one but just playing Devil's Advocate, I wonder what Norwich's message boards were like when they unveiled Alex Neil?

I can only imagine what it'd be like on here!

Does this guy have a League 1 promotion on his CV. If not, then I can't believe he's being considered. Whilst it's no guarantee of success, it's clearly preferential to a Scottish Cup victory.
However, in this game "you just never know". With the number of managers we've had surely we'll get it right one day whether through luck or design.

A lot of successful managers are like Alex Neil, they come out of nowhere with no promotion form but plenty of enthusiasm and a high workrate, and the team just clicks. Other times it doesn't work, as David Weir showed. Managers with plenty of promotions on their CV's don't always come good, as we saw with Wilson and Micky Adams.

Numerous well-known managers are available with decent records, but they are overlooked as they are older and didn't succeed at their most recent club. It seems like the trend today is to employ younger managers in their 30's and 40's, not those in their 50's and 60's. The managers of Man City and Arsenal are a couple of notable exceptions.

There are plenty of candidates that fit the bill, young and old, but no guarantee of success with any of them.

Why do people belive the bookies? I could put £100 on fucking Ces Podd and he's go to fav, it's bullshit

Did someone say Dick Advocat???

Micky Adams was brought in to keep us up so his promotions were not relevant. Wilson hadn't had any success in league one before. These are maybe not the best examples to use.

I'd look at someone with a track record of winning multiple promotions out of this league with every club they've been here with. Step forward Nigel Adkins and Simon Grayson.

It is such a weak market.

I wager £50 at 66/1 would send the odds tumbling down. Once one bookie lowers the odds, the others follow as the market moves.
