Didn't notice it too much on Saturday but, on the high up view on The Football League Show, it was shown to be a shit-heap complete with those pathetic attempts to 'green out' the rugby markings.

What were United thinking of allowing the rugby to be played at BDTBL? The few hundred it attracted would not have covered stewards, catering staff, coppers etc. and have knackered the pitch.

Or does McCabe fancy yet another logo to expand his 'global brand'?

Yes ,because with our squad of footballing officianados and our purist style ,a billiard table finish is just the type of pitch we need to provide to disadvantage our opponents in the remaining home games

I also noticed on Late Kick Off last night, that when the guy was sat in the dugout doing the Tony Currie piece, there was not only our badge in there, but also the badges of Ferencvaros and Chengdu, ownership aside but wtf are they doing in our dugout?

The few quid probably doesnt even cover the cost of the replacing the turf after the Rugby is over.

Another smart move by the club/mccabe but still not a good excuse for the shit we have seen this season though.

Is the pitch that bad? Sat was one of our better passing displays this season and I didn't see the ball bobbling much at all. Considering its now almost the end of March I'd expect most pitches to be fairly tired and cut up.

Normally the likes of Man U, Chelsea etc re-lay their pitches mid season (way more than we can afford)

From my view up on row Z of the Kop I couldn't really notice them.

Personally in my view there is no place for Rugby on a Football pitch just like there's no place for Football on a Rugby pitch.

I hate to p155 on anyone's chips but there's been one Eagles game at the Lane this year. The pitch has been poor for the last few months, it's probably down to the shocking winter we've had, you might remember all those weeks at -20.

I think rather than trying to make them look less noticable by covering them in green, we should have just left the rugby markings on.

Blackwell would publically praise the groundsman for his amazing efforts and thank him for working so hard in these tough times as there's a credit crunch on you know and then off the record immediatly slate the groundsman and tell the media that he is working with his hands tied behind his back.

Speed would state "I don't like to go on about bad luck, but we never get anything dropping our way, although the pitch played into our hands"

Micky stated that "I'll need to look at the videos to see if the white lines played a part, its something we sit down and look at after every game"

and also mention "Yeah i'm looking at my position, I'm not walking away from this job, but the white lines could push the board to decide otherwise and thats up to them"
