If you were Long or Maguire might you be thinking, I don't want to be in a relegation struggle. If its not got better by the end of November I'll give the agent a ring.

If you were HRH might you be thinking do I have a 'get out' here.

If you were McCabe might you be thinking what happens if HRH decides he's made a mistake and wants out.

If you were the Board might you be thinking how many bloody managers do we appoint before we get it right? (Wilson might have got it nearly right).

I think we are really in the shit and Weir just has to go.

Because we have had 6 managers in 3 years should not be the reason not to sack him. He should be kept on if we believe in what he is doing.. I admit to struggling to both of these factors and it's one of those where you go out for lunch and hope the guy is not sitting at his desk when you get back.

We have had 6 managers in 3 years, so yeah, let's get another one in!

So if someone is clearly incompetent you'd just persist hoping they would turn the corner? In that case would we not have continued with Adams because 'his record wasn't bad and he may have just been unlucky' during his stint in the Championship with us?

I reiterate he has 38 games to keep us up. At 1.3pts/game thats 54/5 pts (including the four we have got). The most required over the last 5 years was 51. That's mighty close now and I don't think he'll achieve that.

Indeed I'd go so far as to say any manager coming in now will be in a relagation fight. If the points total required is lower we may clear it by 7/8 points, but don't kid yourself, we are now in very deep do do.

It's not panicing it's based on simple evidence from the performance of SUFC managers and elementary maths. Might even mean dinosaur Dave coming back as an emergency!

It's a quick fix scenario. Look, the teams at the bottom of the league are all poor. We have good players - we will pull away from the bottom at some stage and we need to keep faith with DW for a couple of months at least.

If we get another 4 points from the next 24, would you still stick by him? We will be relegated if so.

I'd give him until the end of November to be honest and assess the situation then.

If the team is showing decent signs of gelling and improving then yes. Otherwise, no.

If he has to go at that point then the new manager would have at least have some time to prepare for the January window.

Fair point. I'm worried about going past October. To be honest, it looks so unlikely that things will turn that we are probably just building up problems for the next bloke.
