...we had an absolutely footballing disaster:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/22133260

That team consisted of Collins, Higginbotham, Hill, Long, Doyle and Porter. Of course the manager was Chris Morgan, not exactly best suited to the job under those conditions.

The bench was a horror show with Coyne, Westlake, Robson, McFadzean, Whitehouse, Forte and Ironside.

It amazes me that we were anywhere near automatic promotion with that squad. The only player still with us since then is George Long. Thank **** we've moved onto something much better.

UTB!

Daryl Westlake is currently playing in the Northern Premier Division with Stourbridge. Was half tempted to do a 'Where are they now' for the rest of them but its too depressing. Only 2 out of the 18 man squad have since gone on to forge a successful career in Murphy and McDonald. Although Wilson signed a lot of that rubbish he must have been managing like vintage Mourinho to get us into the play offs.

It's not half as depressing when you know that's all in the past and can now have a little laugh at the awful teams we've put out in the previous 4 years. Only Murphy and maybe McDonald would get near our team now.
