OK not our best today but...

Yesterday wasn't shit. Shit is when you go to Oldham and Baxter hits a 20 yard free kick over the stand or connor sammon kicks (not controls) a 10 yard pass out for a throw in.
Everything is relative surely ? If we trawl back , then 2-4 v Shrewsbury and losing to Altrincham was shit. Properly shit. Losing 1-0 at Carlisle in Sep 13 was as bad as I've seen in nearly 50 years.

I'm normally glass half full , and yesterday I thought we were a bit shit, compared to recent standards. It was one of those games where I feared the worst from the off . Everything a bit laboured, Fleck is the bollocks for me and has been in his Blades career thus far but he ain't firing at the minute. He'll come good because he is a quality player. We didn't manage a worthwhile effort on goal.

But like I said, all is relative. First half at Derby, first few seconds apart, we were brilliant yet ended up wit same points haul as yesterday.

Stick together, murder the swine, all will be sunshine and roses .

..been to Forest many times and been hammered. Today the best team lost. We outplayed them for big parts.

I wasn't sure Coutts was ready but he was.

What a joy to go to places like Forest and definitely control the game.

We had more possession we had double the corners.

If final third passing had been better we would be looking at top of the league.

Keep going Chris I love it...

Love your positivity. But...

Did you not see how nervous Forest were and were there for the taking?

Does it not bother you that we didn't have one attempt on target all game?

Did you think Coutts contributed more to the game than McGoldrick when he came on?

I'd like to suggest something...

Don't judge a game on how bad it was on a previous occasion. Judge it by how good or bad it was on this occasion.

They were a nervous bunch of misfits who looked terrified of us from the kick off.

We played the better football - until we got to the 18 yard box, then we looked clueless.

I don't give a damn about the number of corners or possession. That's a total irrelevance when you lose to a side you should have simply hammered out of sight.

(I wish I could think like you do - life must be absolutely wonderful in your world?)

:tumbleweed:

I didn’t see it quite the same way as you. We did control large parts, but distinctly lacked penetration.

We missed Duffy, or at least McGoldrick (from the start) behind the front 2.

But we look for ideal openings, and sometimes we’re too idealistic.

It’s very difficult to criticise a team built with our resource that does what it does though.

This entirely!

It's a fine balance between speaking out against what you see as obviously wrong - and being hyper-critical.

We are doing amazing considering where we've come from and the resources we have. But - as I've posted many, many times on here now...we are very predictable and we don't have that bit of flair and unexpected skill that can do something different and win us a game. I'll repeat again...it's a bit like a machine watching United. Methodical, slow, deliberate, relentless.

Sometimes you need to do, unconventional, fast, spontaneous and individual, to win games.
