Having a neb around the usual consumer sites I keep an eye on when I started skimming through a story about adults eating baby food LINKY

Didn't expect to see this quote:

In fact, it was alleged that footy boss Neil Warnock used to urge his players to eat baby food when he was the manager of Sheffield United, believing that if it was good enough for babies it would certainly do for his squad of soccer hopefuls.

Really?

I think Mr Riddle used to give them some baby stuff.

As a father I can tell you that most baby food is bloody awful. The exception to this is Farley's rusks, which are too nice for kids alone.

Heinz chocolate pud is alright too....

Blackwell has gone a stage further. He feeds the fans tripe.

As a child brought up with severely tough finances my dad used to feed us tripe and tell us it was fish !!!
I loved it as well. I can't even look at the stuff now :(

Yeah I remember that story doing the rounds during our great 02-03 season. I found this article via Google:-

"In April 2003, Sheffield United captain Robert Page and his Sheffield United teammates revealed one of the secrets behind their recent success: eating babyfood before matches.

[Though designed for toddlers, fitness coach Dean Riddle explained, foods like Cow & Gate Chocolate Rice Sandwiches provided an ideal carbohydrate boost for players before a big game. (Cow & Gate later began providing the team with free supplies.)]

Maybe Blackwell can arrange to do a deal with Blockbusters?
