OK, I know there were a lot of things said after the last play off debacle, pretty similar to the previous one and the one before that but how are we feeling now should we get to the final again? Anything happened to make you change your mind? If you were "never going to another bloody play off final again" has anything changed to make you want to do the trip again?

Similarly, if you'd "Follow the Blades anywhere because it's in my blood" are there any misgivings that might make you think "sod it, I'll watch it on the tele".

Personally, if we do go up I can only see us going up automatic, I have a feeling in me water that we'd lose out over two legs in the semis but I'd be interested to see if we've done anything this season that's made you have a change of heart either way.

I'm skint so will struggle to afford the play-offs; that's about the only thing that'd stop me from going, but in the end I'll be there. *sigh*

Thankfully I'm out of the country so that decision has been taken for me.

So I suppose the only question I need to ask myself is "should I continue to watch it after we concede, or should I try to find something better to do?"

I agree that we might not make the Final this year if we are condemned to the Play Offs but if we do get to the Final, I'll be there.

It's just the way it is...

After the last debarcle i swore i would never attend another play off match and definately would never darken the overblown vastly over expensive rip off Wembly Stadium again.
I swore I would never suffer that gut wrenching feeling again. Never again will I come away from a ground feeling mortified and let down. Never again will i fork out the price of a week abroad to watch my team not even look like scoring in a major match of great importance. Never again will I suffer the ignomy of defeat in a match that means so much.

So there you have it. Im sure there will be thousand more like me who feel the same.

So ......................Yes Ill be going.

Will not go this year. Season ends on 27th of April for me.

I think the decision will be taken out of our hands. If we don't limp across the line into 2nd place, then I can see us getting beat in the semi's. Coventry to sneak into 6th place and beat us comprehensively over 2 legs.

Had this very discussion with youngest son when he came to visit the other week. We said after the Huddersfield shambles that we were never going to Wembley again to watch The Blades, the pain of so many defeats there was just too much. That feeling of the inevitable outcome prior to experiencing it for real is just too much.

But what if this time....................................?

The thought of missing an actual triumph there, will mean we'll probably grow. As we agreed in the discussion, we'd feel we'd miss something we were long overdue; earned even watching all those pitiful displays in play-off finals!

I didn't got last time and didn't miss the "Wembley experience" at all, it all felt very plastic when I went v Burnley and I have no desire to return.

I could have written that word for word.

What I will add, if we ever get back to Wembley for a CUP FINAL, then I will move heaven and earth to get the best seat possible, any other "manufactured" occasion (Semi final, mediocrity bowl) then I won't go near. Overpriced, overhyped and, quite frankly, terrible place.

Move to another stadium and price it properly and I'd be there.

Not for me this time, I've felt absolutely zero gut stirring all season long and it's a big enough labour of love to make the effort to go to Sheffield never mind the Wembley "Experience"

I’ve been to all of the previous four debacles. But I’m stubborn, I’m going to keep going until they do succeed.

They didn’t have to play like c***s in the previous four games, but they did.

I’m not blinking first, it’s their choice.

Don’t come running to me with your useless performances and lack of heart.

It’s not my fault, I was just sat there willing you on.

Agree with that. I almost wrote, if they played it at Old Trafford or sumert I'd contemplate it. Last season, with Udders tekin 20-25 and us tekkin 25-30, it would have made much more sense to have played in the much closer Manchester.

I missed the Burnley final, as I was in France at the time. That lead me to thinking I'll not go again, after last year's debacle. The thought of seeing a crap game, where United do not score, in a shite, half full, plastic stadium facing 15k Donny/Swindon/Brentford/Yeovil fans is so depressing. The area around Wembley is awful and the stadium just feels tacky. I did not enjoy it at all last year. I was not even that upset, as I had written us off after the Stevenage game. Numb yes, angry no. Yet I picked mi sen up and paid £65 for a ticket and spent £50 on booze and trundling along knowing we would not score and get beat.

Fuck that. I'll go out on the push iron or get in mi garden and build mi shed. I'll use the £150 spent on the day to get the Eurostar to the South of France and back.

I've been to all the play off finals (and the "recent" cup semi finals at Wembley, Old Trafford and Anfield), each one being more painful than the one before but I will go again should we get these. It's in my blood and the thought of not being there when we do actually triumph blows me away.

For what its worth I don't think we'll be playing at Wembley this season, I hope I'm wrong but I fear play off semi final failure awaits ...

Oh and who we play is irrelevant. Whether it is Bournemouth, Swindon, Yeovil or whoever, the point is that our losers will bottle it. They'll get their big match nervous and have rings run round them by a fitter and hungrier team. Wilson will stand bewildered after his negative tactics have not worked and he has no ideas how to change it. The teams around us will be rubbing their hands if they get us, knowing they can come to Bramall Lane and press us high, hit us on the counter and beat us.

The only hope is that the defence gets back to being solid and we start griding out results again. Keep some clean sheets, hope we nick a few games and rely on the others fucking up. Pray that we can somehow limp across the line this year.

Anything but automatic promotion is a failure. Wont go to Wembley for the playoffs again....... But when it comes down to it I probably will

Couldnt have put it better - after the Burnley debacle I vowed to myself that I would have nothing more to do with the play-offs until we had a side that looked as if they would NOT bottle the big occasion. Regrettably, last season went to form and this year, if we were to get to the play-offs, I am absolutely convinced that with this squad of players and this coaching set-up, we will do the same again. We are on the knife edge of this season being over for us, however, I shall be behind them again next season, regardless of which division in the same way I have for the last 47 years.

Just can't see it olle, defence is slow and now look tired all the teams we have left seem to be picking up and enjoying the rest of there season stevenage was prime example, obviously the others are in our situation but i think Swindon sent a statement on Tuesday and i just hope Brentford don't saturday.

Luckily i am out of the country until May 24th so will miss the final, when are the 1st and 2nd legs??

No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Not going to another play off final ever again.

I'd still go even if I knew beforehand that we were going to lose 5-0.

I can't not go. Is there something wrong me?

Said never again after Burnley but still went to H/field debacle - and said never again, again, BUT -
- thinking positively this time will not be needed!
On the other hand???????????????
-thinking negatively, will not get there

So ,being decisive-I'll wait & see!

I think, like many others saying 'no' now, that we would not want to miss it- JUST IN CASE.

To be honest the Play Offs are nothing but a sack of shit. If you finish in 3rd and 3 go up then that should be it. Forget all that excitement for the neutral (cash for Sky more like) bollocks, how can it be fair if a team works it's knackers off all season, finishes 10/15 points clear of a team then doesn't go up because they couldn't beat them in the Play Off?

Just another reason why football's down the pan for me.

Im going. I was there in 93 and last year against Udders, gutted both times. but its my team at wembley and il be lucky if that happens 10 times in my lifetime. it was only £25 last year and id easily pay that again. great day out in the sunshine.

plus i live in london...

Wilson says this team gets nervous at home, so what they gonna be like at Wembley?

If we get to the final then I will go. It's a great day out, heading down the M1 and seeing the teams colours everywhere and then getting off tube and both sets of supporters singing out loud. The stadium lets the day down IMO, much preferred Cardiff to both the old & new wembley.

This is part of the problem too. In 3 of our play off final seasons, we have been the 3rd best team by absolutely miles. Arguably we should have gone up automatic in all 3 of those seasons. Yet we fell short and limped into the play offs, only to get beat. If we were coming from 12th position, on fire and sneaked into the play offs I might get excited. If we were the team no one wanted to play and I thought we had a good chance of winning them I might go. But it is just like history repeating itself. I can see it happening again. Top 2 all season, only to chuck it away at the last minute. Finish 3rd and just lose out, stumbling through to Wembley and then get lamely beaten (1 nowt).

The traffic, costs to park, eat and drink, ticketing costs, the time it takes to get away from the stadium (after we lose :-( ) the poor customer service in the ground(the farce with the lack of water last season).

Maybe it is because I have not seen us win there but I hate going to Wembley almost as much as going to The Sty. I cannot see one aspect of going to Wembley to makes it a 'great day out'. For me it is just about going to watch The Blades try and win a game in an over-priced,over rated stadium.

I'd rather we played at Old Trafford
