People like Michael McIntyre, Miranda, Millican, Romesh Ranganathan and all 'stand-ups' weren't funny 5 years ago. Or ever. But it doesn't stop them being foisted on us.

I never watch them. I found out that there’s some other buttons on the black rectangular thing I use to turn the TV on. If I press one of them, it changes what’s on telly. Reight good. If I press another, I get this thing called ‘catch up’, don’t know why, it’s not like I’m running anywhere or I’m late. Anyway. I get to choose from loads of different programmes and don’t have to watch shit like Miranda or Michael fuck off Mcintyre. Apart from when I go to my mum’s, then it’s Tenable, Tipping Point, The Chase, News, Vera/Lewis/Midsomer Murders until she nods off and I can go out or put something decent on.

That's all fine, but how do you explain that to the millions of morons who watch utter shite on a Saturday night? Like Strictly, Dancing On (whatever variant that week), The Voice or - surely a new low - Small Fortune?

I don’t need to explain owt to them. They obviously like watching shit on Saturday night. It’s a waste of time explaining things to morons anyway, they’re morons, they won’t get it.

If I’m in on a Saturday night, I’ve got footy til seven, quite often boxing after that, EFL from 9.00, MOTD from 10.30.

Let’s face it, you’re never going to beat Dr Who, Generation Game, Two Ronnies, Starsky and Hutch, MOTD. That was a Saturday neet.
