It sounded a lot better, especially first half.(Not been, but listened)

I think we're still short of 3/4 players. I'd like Wilder to go into the loan market. It's noticeable that a number of clubs have been doing so this week.

I think the priority is someone to play next to Fleck and maybe a keeper to challenge Long.

It sounded like we missed creativity from midfield. Also, we desperately need more pace.

Still, I'm a lot happier than I was after a loss last season.

robbiez666 I am happy with the progress so far, we have to remember we was away from home against bolton who you expect to be there or there abouts come the end of the season. Think overall we was the better side and was very unlucky to come away from that loosing 1-0 we should have definitely come away with at least a point.

I think we could have gone 2 Nil up in the first half and gone into the half 2-0 up but it just wasn't meant to be. The first 30 mins or so we was all over them. At the end of the day we lost to a really well hit goal and apart from that limited them to very few chances and would have said we had the better chances of the game. For me fleck is the standard out player so far from pre-season and today he looks really good and I am sure he is going to be a massive contribution to the team through out the season .

My thoughts (have been and am currently sat on a sweaty bus replacement service that isn't moving)...

Long - not at fault for the goal. Made one very good save from a free header but looked suspect with coming off his line a couple of times
Brayford - started brightly but seemed to lose confidence when he took a knock
Wilson & O'Connell - both seemed solid enough and comfortable on the ball
Hussey - awful debut. He's meant to be good going forward and at set-pieces but I can't remember a decent set-piece from
Him all game and very sloppy in possession
Fleck - looks a really good player. Good vision and passing, can't remember him miss-placing a ball all game
Basham - meh
Duffy - started brightly and was involved in all our good moves all game but faded
Done - not impressed, ran around a lot and can't fault his effort but I don't think he's good enough
Sharp - had a quiet game for all his effort
Clarke - likewise had a quiet game, got dragged all over the place and was allowed to be

After the first 20/25 minutes I thought we'd go on to win but we faded badly. Maybe tiring in the sun (Bolton didn't look any different) but worrying to see. Then again even our fans seemed to tire in the heat for all the numbers we brought.

Reckon a draw would've been a fair result in a fairly stale game. Don't know what our player (not sure who it was) was thinking to head the ball into such a dangerous area but can't fault the finish from Spearing.

What kind of formation did they play? Impossible to tell with all these new names on't team sheet.

It was crap no shots on target one header from done tipped over by Howard. No midfield. Crossing was terrible, Hussey crossing was pathetic and Duffey showed glimpses two central defenders were ok. Long one excellent save otherwise iffy no real pressing or closing down.
Lot of work to do

Wasn't it husseys cross from a set piece after about 15 minutes when Clarke missed with a header? Listing to radio sheff, according to Edwards he should have scored.

One that involved not shooting at the opponents net.

Calm down drama queen and grow up ffs

On today's performance it's a CM we need before anyone else .

We had the bulk of possession but there's no one to link midfield and attack . Hence more possession and fewer shots .

Whilst obviously disappointed with the loss I'm ( cautiously ) optimistic .

He should have scored for sure, you're right that it was Hussey, that's one then! Clarke really should've had a couple in the early spell and was inches away of getting on the end of good balls in a couple more times.

All bar one or two corners either hit the first man or went over everyone, how hard can it be?

Early doors but there are obvious issues that I can't see being sorted for us to really give promotion a real go. We lack pace, creativity from midfield, the bench looks weak, the goalie......

Too much to do in one pre season and Phipps probably wasn't too far off with his 3 transfer window talk. We've made very small steps forward and just need to keep making them

A lack of pace was so obvious when counter attacking several times first half.

Have to disagree on creativity though, Fleck and Duffy have both shown today they can create. A Done replacement is a must, more so than any other position in my opinion. Someone with pace to give us something else would be great.

We knew the weak spots before the KO. They are still the same , GK , CB , CM & LM. Wilder knows this. Done needs replacing by a proper LW. Keep him as cover striker if you must.
Basham is not a promotion winner ffs , he is cover at best - get a proper CM.
Still need a cover CB if Wilder won't say it's Basham.
GK divides opinion , but an experienced one is needed , whether cover or started.
