Nostalgia in my wallet

A slightly random point, but nostalgia is a selective beast. Just over seven years ago people were abusing Warnock at the end of an average season, doubting we'd ever go up.

But then McCabe funds Danny Webber, Paul Ifill and HMS, and lo and behold we're promotion material. Things can turn round with a bit of luck and judgement.

I guess it depends on the mood you are in when going through your wallet!

;)

We need some of the second statement!

Your forgetting Keef G, Short and Rhino, but yes it seemed like Warnock was not going to take us any further until our Belgian waffle maker finally put his hands in his pocket.

Unsworth, Gillespie, HMS and Short were all freebies

Ade Shockinbiyi says hi.

Do you see Simon Jordan's answer to the question "what invention do you wish you had made?", "a machine that would have chopped my arm off to stop me signing Ade Akinbyi!"

Apparently he only signed Ade as a pick me up for then manager trevor Francis, even though he knew it was £2m down the shitter.

But like anything Simon Jordan says, I'd take it with a heavy dose of salt!

Sportsman - correct

Just to enhance the theme:

A pass to the Penny Farthing? - I once saw Mick Hill fall down the full length of the stairs there (a true Blade, he didn't spill a drop of his Friday night pint).

A Jack Archer invoice?

George

Their wages certainly were not! In those 4 players you were talking about players that had played pretty much or all of their whole career at top flight level. They might have all been in the twilight of their careers, but they certainly would not have come cheap.

Blades related? Yes.

Money related? No.

I thought you were going to reveal you had found a contraceptive in your wad.

Am I right in the understanding that the Sportsman only sells fizzy pop now?
Didn't it used to be a Wards boozer?

I was going through my wallet the other day and I came across something that made me realise how far we have slumped and what has happened to our club in less than 7 years when it was supposed to have been "Europe in 5 years"

Clues? Credit card size and refers to a legendary Blades meeting place.

Any guesses?

You don't clear your wallet out much do you??
