Now that Long, King and McGinty have been called up for internation duty, is there a risk the trip to Sixfields might be postponed?

I think you have the right to postpone if you have three 'regular' first team squad players called up.

It *could* be, but then, it's on Sky, so it's likely it'll go ahead with us missing a couple of regulars.

Well David Weir confirmed with Paul Walker today that the game will NOT be postponed even though we will be without our first choice keeper and first choice striker... Lovely.

Also, I thought it was our home game with Coventry which is scheduled to be on Sky? Although I'm most likely wrong.

Not postponing the Rotherham game proved to be a stupid decision. Amazed we're doing it again.

Why would you not call it off when you know the reserve keeper isn't up to it and we'll have our best striker missing?

I assume you are looking for something more cerebral than "because we want the moolah"...

Great choice David. Worked out well for us against Rotherham didn't it?

Why on earth would he postpone it.
Doesn't matter how many missing as it will not affect the result any, will it?

Do you know whose call is it? Weir, or board/committee?

Now we're slightly less cash-strapped, you'd think football sense would prevail.

Maybe the board told him to get six points by the middle of the month or he's out...

Because we have the squad .... Big Chris will slot in no probs.

Not fancying the short journey then Kenny owd mucker??

If they do postpone it, are SUFC going to refund my train tickets? Thought not.

We should take full advantage of anything that is in our favour. I have listened to Weir's interview on Radio Pig ,and IMO, he comes across as someone who knows what he wants and how he should get it.
I do think though, that he needs a bit of craft, guile. and mongrel, to be realistic; postpone games if it means that his quest for better players will happen to our advantage, later rather than sooner..
Having said that, I will nail my colours to the Weir mast.

Me.

And I'm going despite doing a 3.30 am start as well (tried to get out of it but can't). Going to be a pretty brutal day for me.

Lucky you've got good company then :)

Who is going to this game?

I am travelling up from the smoke for this one. Is the hare bounding along to this one?

before the tickets went on general sale we had sold around 600. Can't see many more making the effort.

Actually Ollie not decided yet.
Brentford was shit enough.

get thi sen ovver for a cuple or ales Kenny mi owd spadge :)

I, and probably most exiled Blades, would be gutted if it was postponed. Don't get to see us that much and I'll take every chance I get, regardless of how shite we are.

I'm going.

Wouldn't be if it was at the Ricoh but it's a chance to get a ground in.

Said I wasn't going to get in the habit of going to every away match this season for purely financial reasons but on the showings so far, the team are making it incredibly easy for me not to be finding the money.

Thing is thou, Linz, that final whistle at our first away win for months is something that can't be missed. Can't miss one just in case so I'll be there

Do the away team get paid by Sky? Always assumed it was only the home team as they were the ones out of pocket.
