Just read Mark Howard is out for 10-12wks with a bust thumb.
Could this be their banana skin maybe!????
Means he won't face us in the cup n he's been their keeper all season.

Don't know who they have in line, but with the changes to the loan system this could hurt them. Although probably not that much since their 'keeper was Howard.

He did it by throwing the ball out and catching his hand on a retreating player. A bizarre way to crock yourself.

Anyone seen Alnwick play?

He was signed by Spurs from Sunderland for £900,000 and played 80 odd games for Peterborough before asking to leave and moving to Bolton.
I was surprised that Howard started ahead of him at the start of the season for Bolton.
Saw him play for 80 odd minutes for Bolton on sunday and he was ok.
Think you have to be more concerned with Zak Clough falling over in the box and cheating penalties than who's in Boltons goal.

I'm banking on our defence and midfield being so solid that our area will be free of Bolton players for the full 90mins!!.............

.....ok, maybe not.

Wasn't he on loan from Newcastle United at some point.
Then played for Port Vale?

Had a little Premier League experience I believe when Krul was injured at Newcastle United.

Though I may be wrong.

That's Jak Alnwick pal, pulled off a cracking point blank save last season at Port Vale, from Billy Sharp.

Well spotted Grappler ...
You were the first to notice my deliberate mistake..
Good to see some on here are clued up!!

Grappler there was NO deliberate mistake, I got them mixed up, a bit like that time I put three teaspoons of cocaine instead of sugar into Grandad LYDON bedtime cocoa...

How was I to know he was an Irish Drug's Baron?

I'll ask my friend 'The Internet'

Alnwick was well thought of originally as he joined Spurs for £900k in 2007. However in the following 4 years he made 1 appearance for Tottenham and a total of 27 appearances for 7 different teams on loan, never establishing himself anywhere. In 2014 he eventually settled at Peterborough where he was the principle goalkeeper for 2 seasons making a total of 84 appearances and helping them to 9th and 13th positions in League 1.

I feel reasonably happy about this :)

Edit : there's a 3 year gap in there in which he played 21 games for 3 different clubs.

I don't think the Posh player was retreating, it looked as though he was trying to stop Howard throwing the ball out, still very bizarre either way.

Bolton have conceded least amount of goals in League 1 (12) - two less than anyone else with Howard in goal. They haven't been prolific in front of goal so yes it could potentially be good news for us.

When you look at Howard, who got plenty of stick on here, it does make you think that one of the main problems with our keepers has been the pricks in front of them.

Don't think it will really hurt them as there's probably little between Howard and Alnwick.
