The location of the UK super casino will be Manchester.

It would have still been a fight to get it at the Lane.

I wonder what Kevin McCabe's back up plan is??

Let's get an unlicenced one going on underneath the pitch ;)

Do we need a casino? Its sometimes a blooming lottery just going to the lane!

I can't see me ever using one anyway.

maybe they will attempt to get a "large" or "small" casino instead.

Cock-fighting, what does anyone reckon?

I won't mind Matt, but the PC posse won't allow such stuff... ;-)

What about a decent theatre, to replace the Crucible? (Too small & getting a bit run down..) Its a serious idea..... World Championship Snooker stays in Sheff, we get some culture, and no-one else has one attached to a footy ground. As long as the panto season stays in theatre, off the pitch, we'd all benefit. ;-)

I believe the World Snooker Championships are staying here anyways, but moving to a larger location once built.

Yeah a new billiadrome will be built. It will host other sports too such as boxing.

Sounds like a perfect marriage with BDTBL... I'm not up to speed with the Star's news, as the paperboy won't deliver to west London. ;) I reckon a great big amphitheatre like that would work well at the Lane. It could be used as a supersize conference room for the hotel too, & make us a real premier venue in the North. Boxing, snooker, theatre, etc.. Sheff council are all wendy fans though aren't they, so we probably won't get it. What's the local rag say about where they plan to make it?

I dont think the snooker should be held down at the lane. It would lose the whole charm of the world snooker championships.

The Crucible is undergoing refurbishment this summer and will be a lot better equipped anyway.

I don't think the Crucible is big enough TBH, S64... Can't make enough on the tix, compared with other cities snooker venues. TV money ain't what it was for snooker, and a few thousand extra punters through the course of the tournament would make a big difference.

It woul be good if it was bigger.

But its the Crucible, the home of snooker. Think it would kind of lose the feel for snooker players competing in Sheffield if it was at side of lane.

A good place for the new billiadrom i think, would be the Roxy disco site.
