i am assuming that billy sharp is on his way out of bramall lane, after a quality goal in midweek, then not even a place on the bench on saturday, he must be on the verge of signing for somebody, probably on loan

Hope so!
But in a strange kind of way I will miss his offsides, missed chances and the fact he spends most of the match on his arse!
Billy tried but is just not good enough - Heard that MK Dons were interested!

Rumour i heard yesterday he's off along with Howard ... to be done next week Monday was mentioned.

brining a touch of logic into it, why would Howard play yesterday if he was out of the door?

Logic ? ............ were talking Sheffield United here and anyhow playing a player then shipping him out pronto has been done at BDTBL before.

Lets wait and see.

Those 3 points pretty much sum Billy up and I won't be disappointed to see him go, however I can't help but feel sorry for him sometimes because I think he's a capable player, it's just we don't play him correctly, most of the time he plays with his back to goal which is the complete opposite of how he should be playing, he's a "fox in the box" (I hate that term) tap in type player, not a back to goal 20 yards out type of player.

Saying that though, I would expect the fox to have a fairly good grasp of the offside trap, of which Billy does not

I agree with that analysis of Sharp, but our system just doesn't allow for his kind of player.

If we play one up front then Sharp clearly isn't the hold it up type target man we need there, and Henderson is.

If he plays as part of a 2 then he's the man playing off the target man, but he can't do that effectively in this division either. He doesn't have enough pace for channel runs at least if he wants to gain a bit of space against a defender and his first touch isn't good enough either when he does get the ball in those positions. He's a good finisher, and he's quick at reacting over the first couple of yards, but the pace of the championship is just a notch above his level and simply doesn't allow him the opportunites he got at Scunny.

I think that unfortunately for Billy, he is stuck between divisions, maybe too good for league one but not good enough for the championship. I reckon he should go somewhere like Southampton or Weeds

I'm disappointed that Billy Sharp never really made it at the Lane and your probably right that he is stuck between the divisions.

I would cut our losses and sell Billy Sharp as i think he would be an excellent aquisition for someone in the bottom two divisions with a bit of money to spend and ambition to go higher in the league

I wouldn't be sad to see Sharp go. We need to replace him though. We can't sell a striker if we're not going to bring another one in.

really floated in and out of the game though, didn't seem to be on the same wavelength as the rest of the team.
