Harry looks strong when surging forward, can pick a pass out and shoot but quite often looks as if he lacks pace as a central defender.

Would it be better to play him in the midfield and play Hill as a sweeper? Hill has got pace and can jump well for high balls beyond what you would expect for a player of his height.

We need to put some physical strength in the midfield where we are quite lightweight (literally) at the moment.

Harry looks a better option for Doyle's place

One other benefit is that if we do sell him, he will bring a higher fee as a midfielder than a defender

I don't think he would bring a higher fee as a midfielder because he would be shit there. His "distribution" usually involves lofting balls diagonally that he doesn't have the ability to pull off. The odd one comes off and sticks in people's minds but if you punt it long as often as he does, the odd one or two are bound to find their target. He is too slow and unfit to play in midfield. Doyle covers a hell of a lot of ground and makes a good number of interceptions that Maguire would have no chance doing.

His main asset other than his size is that he has decent positional awareness as a defender. It would do him no favours to move him from the position he has probably been trained in for the last nine or 10 years.

So, as I'm sure you can gather, it's a no from me to Maguire in midfield.

How do suggest that we stop being vulnerable to Harry's limited pace and our lightweight midfield then?

Two separate problems.

1. Either tell Maguire to hit the gym and lose some weight or sign a quicker centre half.
2. Sign a better defensive midfielder.

Harry isn't mobile enough for midfield.

Jags played there in a good side and was a lot fitter, leaner and quicker than Harry. Jags was an athlete. Harry hasn't got those attributes. If you think he could just play there because he marauds forward, can win the ball in the air and can tackle then its not enough.

Jags showed that he could play there, but he was in a good team and is much more mobile. He still struggled at times though.

Better option is to get the current midfielders to do their jobs and get big Harry to focus on his

I thought Harry had a good game on Saturday apart from his defence and midfield splitting pass to the touchline!
