Hi blades, Banny here, was a bladesmadder as bladen864, but due it it been taken over by some advert mad gimp who hasn't got a clue about the basics of a football forum, I find myself at S2 :)
First and foremost, I'm not the biggest poster, 500+ in a 5yr spell, but read daily and comment when I feel Iv got something to contribute ;)

The reason I'm posting is about Billy Sharp. Been told today he's back.

The source is Nicky Travis, and I have no reason to doubt it whatsoever. Will be confirmed Sunday at NT's young en's 1st birthday bash, where Billy will be in attendance, but no reason to doubt this info at all.

Take it as you wish, but in my eyes... The future is bright, it's red and white!!

UTB!!

Well, if that's true I would be happy.
UTB!

Welcome aboard. Banny. I seldom read B M are you the Banny who is a Wendy and spends lots of time as a WUM? My apologies if you are not one and the same.

Would be excited about seeing him back, but not convinced he'll produce the goods.

I'd probably give it a miss personally - however I'd undoubtedly giggle a little bit (hopefully not in public) if it was announced we were signing him.

That was 'Bummo'
...used to get very upset about my avatar :D

Premature Excitation... Hope it's true, get Andy Keogh in and we're golden upfront.

Not that i'm that bothered about Sharp, but i hate you, you weird kinda bannno parody.
I aim my excreta to your face.

Mixed views on the Donny forums from what I've read.

"Hes done nothing since the leeds game, hes lucky dickov didn't sub him in every game after that. No effort at all, you can see he's down but where we are at min we cnt afford to carry him.
million pound premiership player ?? I dnt think so."

"I'm sure he didn't expect the fans here to be critical of his performances, and that is probably knocking his confidence as well, ultimately his performances up to now have not been good enough"

"With a solid pre-season under his belt, he's a good bet for a 15+ goal tally in the Championship"

"He ain't getting any younger, neither is he uprooting trees anymore."

"I think half of the recent problems we've had have been as a result of not playing to his strengths, I don't see him ever getting many goals while ever we persist with knocking it long to Brown. Sharp has looked his best when the ball has been played on the deck, rather than being forced to chase nothing balls down the channels." http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=246411.0

The way we never seemed to play it for him

Hope I am wrong and it's third time lucky for Sharp.

He was extremely unlucky for the Blades.

1st spell - Warnock didn't want him so shipped him out. He then banged in shit loads at Scunthorpe in this division.
2nd Spell - Robson. Nuff Said..... Then Blackwell put him out wide to go fetch the ball for Beattie. When Beattie left, he started to flourish playing alongside Henderson. He then got injured during his best spell of form for us.

Does anyone know a Doncster fan who can give an opinion on what he's like now compared to his first spell?

I think he has struggled this time around although he's playing for a shite Championship side with limited chances created. He would flourish infront of goal for us at present. We create chances now and he has always been known as a goal poacher.

He helped Southampton get to the premiership and since then struggled to get regular football. If we can give him regular football, he'll easily top 20 league goals

Smells like a pile of the proverbial to me.

1. We are not in a transfer window and won't be for some while yet.
2. Its not a time of year when clubs traditionally do business either buying or selling.
3. Only last week Billy was on Radio Sheffield sounding lower than a snakes belly due to the lack of clarity about his future, hardly suggesting a return to the Blades was imminent.

Apologies to the OP if it comes to pass, but sounds like a load of Bananas at the moment.

He did an interview on RS, last week I think, and he sounded really down which is unusual for footballers, they're normally upbeat and intent on saying nothing much. I think he'd been dropped by Donny and aren't they his third loan club in 2 seasons? He also said he'd had absolutely no contact from Southampton and that must be a very strange situation, they do after all still pay his wages. His point was that he has no idea if he'll be back there next season, but it was almost as though Pochettino might not know who he is.....

That's true, but Clough did say to Radio Sheffield this week that there were some targets involved in relegation battles this weekend, so it would be inappropriate to talk about these particular players before then. If he's genuinely available, wouldn't surprise me if we enquired.

Yeah i heard it. Sounded right down. He basically said, i'm going on holiday and my agent will sort it.
