I'm a member of numerous forums, but this is the first Sheffield United forum I've signed up to. It looks good, and seems as though there's some good members on here, and that;s what convinced me to sign up.

Yeah, sorry dude...

I'll advise him not to spam on messageboards, but he doesn't listen - he thinks club forums are the best way to advertise because the members will stay on their respective club forums whatever the outcome.

You see the thing is, posting our URL and saying to try here.... isn't really encouraging him not to do so

It's a load of crap. However it's dressed up, its spam.

If he wishes to discuss sponsorship or paying for ads... then tell him to do so. Otherwise it's nothing but using other people to attempt to get members.

Personally, I'd rather I and our kindly donating members didn't pay for the bandwidth to host a blatent advert from someone who couldn't care less about our community.

If you check on the forum, I did try to encourage him not to spam footballing forums, as it gives the forums a bad name. What Jamie said was that he thinks club forums are alright with it, so I posted the URL for here because I'd like more United members on the forum, and it's a nice place here.

It is the wrong way to go about things, and sorry for recommending him here.
