I also agree with this. Mentioned last season I thought her was out best striker and he backed that up with his goals last year.

There's an additional financial logic to this.

Strikers are the most expensive commodity.

If you play him as a striker and not support player you have one more striker and it's cheaper to buy a winger or attacking midfielder than it is to buy a striker.

At present though, I can well imagine it will depend on the sum of parts available.

With no Berge, it has to probably be McAtee-N'Diaye-Kahra. With N'Diaye and Khadra in free roles behind a striker you then have Billy, Brewster and Jebbison to pick from. So it's a personal preference as to whether you fell McAtee will bring more than the other three right now.

His eventual role should be leading the line IMHO.

Play him and brewster...

Swap whichever one looks the most tired after 60 mins with sharp..

Mcburnie suspended. Opportunity for Brewster or Sharp you say... forget it.

Play Ili up front with either 2 of Khadra, Berge or Mcatee behind.

Biggest goal threat we have and best at leading the high press.

Is Berge ok after Tuesday?

Sorry been out of it last few days wi fkin Covid. Knocked it right out of me it has ☹️

Hecky was interviewed today, said Berge is injured and been sent for a scan.
He wouldn't commit himself to any timescales, said sometimes these things clear up very quickly so could be OK to play a part on Saturday
but they need to wait to see what the scan says.

He also said Ahmedhodzic has been kicking a ball in training so has recovered but playing him Saturday might be too as it risks the injury re-occurring, so even Ahmedhidzic might not be a starter on Saturday.

Typical Hecky, always keeps his cards close to his chest, always vague when it comes to injury timescales.

McBurnie and Berge out = Khadra and Brewster in, for me.
We've never been great at it, but play a bit of a counter-attacking game.
Think we're limited in what we can do with the unavailability of players.

At times Brewster has led the line well for us this season, but he has been disappointing the last few games. I think I would go with Sharp as the replacement for McBurnie, hes got the experience for a tough away game and has led the line well the last few years.

With Berge out I think you have Khadra and Ndiaye as interchangeable AMs in support of him. We are going to have to play on the ground with that attack though!!

I'd be inclined to be very cautious with anyone who's in any way borderline. So unless Berge/Anel are 100% clear to play and Bogle isn't knackered then I'd go to a back 4 and have all of Ndiaye, McAtee, Khadra, Brewster on the pitch. Something like

Wes
Gordon/Bash/Egan/RND
Norwood/Doyle
McAtee/Ndiaye/Khadra
Brewster

I'd prefer to drop points rather than pick up any more injuries and it's a chance to try a back 4 and give a start to those who've spent a lot of time on the bench. Think Hecky will want Sharp in though and Bogle is probably fine to start.

In general I think we're absolutely fine and have been ravaged by injuries. If we can ever get to a point where we have most people fit and available then I'd be pretty confident of us pushing for an automatic spot.
