Naughton & Walker to Spurs [Confirmed]

What frustrates me so much about this deal, is the fact the board have insisted we don't need to sell players.

If this is the case, we can sell Naughton for £4-5m and give Walker another year to establish himself.

We can't sell Walker and loan him back, because it's not legal anymore. Even it was, what's the point? We might aswell keep him for another season, and if he does well again he'll be going for more money. It just doesn't make any sense.

As I said in the McIndoe thread the other day, there's something wrong somewhere behind the scenes at the Lane. We're in alot more debt than people realise, and they need to get the money in quickly.

Why is it illegal to loan Walker back? Are loans banned now?

Why because the McIndoe deal collapsed are we skint now?

We have 2-3 wingers on trial, I've read tonight that we could get Danny Rose from Spurs as part of the deal. 1st positive signing if we do as I liked the look of him v Germany in the U21's

Premiership teams can't loan players out in the first calendar year of purchase. We'll probably get Rose on loan instead.

The McIndoe deal collapsed because we were waiting for the Naughton/Walker money to come through before we paid it, which suggests we are pretty skint.

Only 1 of the 3 wingers are good enough to sign for us, and that's Julian Gray.

When did the loan ban come in then? Is it just between PL clubs or is this affecting CCC as well? Where did you hear this as all the media seems to have been suggesting a loanback

Why did the McIndoe deal collapse because we were waiting for money to come from Naughton/ Walker? Where did that come from? Gary Johnson at Bristol?

It seemed to collapse when we'd accepted Everton's bid!

It came in about 2 years ago, I'm sure it's that. Unless it's some sort of other agreement I'm thinking of I don't know. Either way, I still think it would be a bad move for United to do such a deal.

Gary Johnson said it, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be able to post such a comment on the Bristol City OS without it being true.

I'm not sure that loans are banned to championship. But I agree a loan back might not be a great idea. It'd be like sleepin with the bird after she's been with someone else, it should be the same, but you just think that she's a dirty slapper :)

Ha ha as for Johnson.... I'm sure he wouldn't either but then again i've seen some of the filth on the dingles OS!

Think he has gone, seen his facebook status?

Kyle Naughton nothin rong with fightin 4 a place i did it at sheff ill do it were ever i go will be as gd as i make it..... na stop rightin on my wall plz...

Hmmm :/

I think a deal for walker could be done now, but he doesn't actually sign until the end of this year?

Pisses me off spurs have bid high money when they have 4 good full backs - Chimbonda, bale, Asso-ekotto (Dno how to spell it) & Corluka. No way will either of the 2 get a first team place.

I believe they could cos Chimbonda is a liability. While Bale has been in the side Tottenham have never won. Assou-Ekotto isn't bad and im not too sure of Corluka, I think if they do go they will probably have to fight for a place but it won't be long before they get in the first team. Both are very good players.

I think that we said no to Mcindoe because he's been impressed with Julian Gray & Kyel Reid.

I went to sheffield fc the other night and was impressed with both. Fast & strong. Gray even scored a header! When did we last have a winger that can head the ball!

McIndoe's meant to be a bit of a nob on the training ground, (so i hear!)

And I've heard that he thinks he's bigger and better than what he is.

We don't want, or need any players who are like that.

I've heard he can be a bit temperamental. Good player, but if the likes of Gray and Reid will be in the squad, then A) they are younger and B) won't cost anything

Any new on naughton?

Lastest I've heard is he wants to come to everton ahead of spurs.
But because we haven't matched spurs deal. Sheff united want him to go spirs and blocking our bid.

You probably know as much as we do TB... the news we heard over the weekend was that the sales to Spurs were going to be announced on the stockmarket today... but as yet, nothing.

I rate the lad hope he comes to us.
And for yourselves you should know he would be in good hands under moyes

Unlike spurs who have about 50 full backs.

Isn't McCabe supposedly putting the shutters down soon, if a decision/deal isn't made?

Once we sell him then I don't really care how he gets on. He won't be our player, and as he's played only a season it's hard to have a hell of a lot of affection for him, as opposed to Jags, who is still highly regarded at the Lane.
If he had to go then id rather him go to everton
If he goes I'd rather he goes to whoever pays most. If Timbuctoo Rovers want to pay most then he can go there. If Spurs want him to keep their bench warm then that's fine too. I want what's best for United, and as soon as Naughton and Walker cease to be United players then I don't really give a monkey's what they do.

Supposedly if a deal hadn't been done by Friday 17th. Don't hold your breath waiting though, after all it's Tuesday 20th now.

Walker plays for U19's

Just reading the FA's website on the England U19's game last night and saw this in the match preview. I assume the 'personal reasons' were transfer related.

U19s defender Kyle Walker reflects on a busy few days.

England U19 defender Kyle Walker is hoping he can round off a hectic few days by helping the Young Lions to victory in their opening game of the European Championship finals.

The pacy right-back linked up with the squad last week, but was then forced to travel out to Ukraine 48 hours later than the rest of the group after he was given permission to leave the camp for personal reasons.

Once that was sorted out, he was then able to re-join the England squad in Donetsk in time for preparations for Tuesday’s game with Switzerland.

The 19-year-old only picked up his first cap for England earlier this year and was forced to miss May’s Elite Round qualifiers due to his involvement with Sheffield United’s play-off games, so he’s now raring to go in what is his first experience of international tournament football.

Make what you will of this but for me it either means that we've done a deal and just not announced it; Not done a deal and McCabe hasn't brought the shutters down... or they couldn't get a deal and that worked for the Blades and McCabe brought the shutters down

I hope its the last one!

Oh and he played 90 mins, not sure how well he played though.
