<< League One side Sheffield United have joined the race for Manchester City defender Nathaniel Oseni, allnigeriasoccer.com is reporting.

It appears the Blades are keen on the stopper ahead of the opening of the transfer window, with the teenager featuring for the U21s in their 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace last Thursday.

Nathaniel Oseni has also been linked with possible moves to Leicester City, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Brom, having featured for the three clubs in trial games.

The Londoner has not played for the U21 team of Manchester City in recent matches and this has fueled speculation that he is expected to depart the club sooner rather than later.

Oseni was on the books of Fulham before his move to Manchester City >>

I wonder who he will choose?

I reckon our academy has produced more premiership defenders than Man City's over the last decade.

Maybe coming here would be best for him in terms of game time at least, so you never know. We're closer to Manchester than the other three as well.

His trial with us was the most recent so that might suggest there's nothing on the table for him from the other clubs.

It doesn't say he has a choice though. If he was that good in his trials with the other clubs they'd have made him an offer. Maybe they've looked at him and thought 'not good enough for the PL now or the immediate future and too old to be considered a hot prospect, just one of about 500 PL youth players who may one day be good enough'.

I can hear the sirens of the Thread Police in the distance :p
There's a simple procedure for this. If you think the thread is on the wrong forum then you hit 'tools' and report the thread to Foxy and Linz, who will them move it if they see fit.

I actually didn't know you could do that. Cheers, Chief Detective Inspector BushBlade :D

Tell tale tit :)

When is a rumour, not a rumour? When it's on the Official site:-

"United's U21s slipped to defeat against Premier League opposition on Thursday afternoon.

A goal in each half from Freddie Ladapo secure all three points for Crystal Palace, despite a spirited performance from United's young side, which included Louis Reed and three trialists.

The result means the Blades still need a point from two remaining matches to ensure a top two finish and a play-off berth.

The Eagles took the lead in the eighth minute when Williams released LADAPO and the striker finished first time past Eastwood.

The visitors response was almost immediate though with De Girolamo having a couple of attempts on goal, but the Blades went in at the interval behind.

United came out in a positive manner in the second period, but despite enjoying the majority of the ball, goalscoring chances were at something of premium, although Brooks volleyed over from inside the penalty area.

And with 25 minutes remaining, Palace doubled their advantage, as LADAPO hit an unstoppable shot past Eastwood with the ball going into the net off the post.

The Blades again looked to mount a comeback, but the Premier League side stood firm, despite a flurry of United corners, to condemn John Dungworth's side to a second consecutive defeat, having previously gone 16 matches unbeaten in the Professional Development League.

But Dungworth said there were positives in the performance, despite the loss, remarking: "We were poor by our high standards against Colchester and didn't deserve anything from the game.

"But our endeavours against a good Palace side deserved more than we got. It is a learning curve for these young players though, because it proves you have to make your possession count and remain tight defensively.

"We played very well overall, but were punished for losing the ball in bad areas, whilst at the other end despite numerous crosses and corners; we failed to score when on top."

Blades: Eastwood, Charlesworth (Cummings 45), Brown, Gilmour, Oseni, Semple, L'Ghoul (T. Smith 51), Reed, Ndjoli (Hall 74), De Girolamo, Brooks.
Unused: Ramsdale, Hallam.

...it's that time of year, this lad will be 20 next season so make or break for him.

Still, it's good we're looking at these lads and you always hope you'll get someone who'll come in, do the business and prove his old bosses wrong somewhat...it does happen..just not to us :(

What did Michael Brown's manager tell him before he sold him to us? Was it 'you'll never be a premier league player?' I guess Jags and Tonge were told the same.

or

The next Danny Philliskirk, Jacob Mellis etc.

The source in the OP is allnigeriasoccer.com ??

How do we buy him? Send them some money and then we get a footballer in return? Sounds a bit suspect to me.....

We give our bank details to Jacob Esan again. Simple.

Rejected, sold for millions, same thing.

What a pointless list that is, some of those players just weren't that good for Chelsea which is why they were sold and others moved on for lots of money after some success. I'd say De Bruyne is the one huge mistake there, otherwise the article should be headlined "11 players Chelsea once had playing for them, 10 now play elsewhere, 1 has come back".

Yeah, it's a bit tenuous 'click-bait'..but I guess the inference is that Chelsea 'had better' at the club and they've gone on to do ok/better than some there...surprised Lukaku isn't on it given Chelsea's lack of options when Costa is out..

Lukaku should be near the top of the list to be fair. But Bertrand better than Azpilicueta? Johnson better than Ivanovic?

As stated on another thread, he was the best of the three trialists in that game. Commanding, vocal, liked to bring the ball out from the back and built like a brick shithouse. Whether he's good enough for the first team is anyone's guess, though.

Leicester, Blades?
Blades, Leicester?
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
