I don't post very often. Lurk lots...but rarely contribute - however as the title suggests, here are my thoughts...
The very best we can hope for is a massive clear out from top to bottom over the summer in order to: clear the wage bill wherever possible; appoint a manager who is able to encourage a better style of football on a relative budget (Keith Hill?); one who is prepared to blood some of our kids - who, if aren't good enough in our current state never will be - and if they aren't then it is time to stop paying XXX millions for our academy that has produced nowt in terms of players and above all else, United need to become that once more...United. The club need to do whatever it takes to keep its support onside and pulling in the same direction. They also need to be aware that any more bad decisions (Robson, selling the Kyles, chasing the West Ham payout amongst many, many others) could be the final nail in United's coffin - I'll take relegation tomorrow if it means that United come back stronger in the long run - we have in the past and we will again. I'm not suggesting we'll steam roll league 1 next season...no HMS Piss the League suggestions. More phoenix from the flames ... eventually. UTB
