My take....

Oh, I agree with you in that by the definition of the law it wasn’t handball. What I was saying though is that if any of the decisions we’ve seen recently are being used as a precedent why wouldn’t that also have been a penalty. I’d have fully expected that to be given if it was in Liverpool’s favour.
Which decisions are you referring to?

Someone on here mentioned the Dier one for starters. The Joel Ward one is a similar example

Edit: The Robin Koch decision in favour of Liverpool was said to have been given because his arm was away from his body line. The same could have been said for Robertson yesterday.

Stevens I have been saying it for a while he is at his peak does some great stuff but mistakes are creeping into his game which are unfortunately ending in goals against got to give Lowe a start instead asap maybe Bogle too

Not quite sure where this clamour to get Bogle into the team is coming from. Baldock has been one of our best players so far this season. There's probably 6/7 players that should lose their place before him.

I'm going out on limb here, but here goes. Would Lundstrum be better at JOC position? Not sure about his heading but he is physical, gets up and down the field and is an intelligent footballer. I don't know. We need someone and Stevens and Robinson are not premier league centerbacks. Let me know how dopey this idea is....begin.

I believe whether intentional or accidental if striking an arm changes the flight of the ball it should be a foul.
Just a small deviation in flight or speed can change where that ball goes to.

It also fell to Robertson's advantage, changed the flight of the ball into the box and he was able to collect it and play it out of the box.

Other less-obvious and less-intended handballs and resulted in penalties this season. Robertson's hand was away from his body, and the only way you can effectively get away from that in the new interpretation is if your arm is unnaturally away from the profile.

It was a penalty, so was the foul on Berge.

Yesterday we were 2-2 on VAR.

Prior to lockdown, I genuinely thought that Stevens was going to be taken by one of the bigger clubs in the summer. He was outstanding.
Since then he hasn’t been great and this season looks a shadow of his former self, although yesterday he looked much better.
As far as McBurnie goes - I desperately want to like him, but simply being a ‘handful’ isn’t enough without some end product.
He really should have at least 3 goals by now this season.

Agreed. Stevens has a 'confidence' issue. The goal v the Barcodes was the start of it all.

McBurnie would make a fucking great Championship centre forward and has done for Swansea. Up here in the Premier League he is way out of his depth too many times and is shocking at finishing. I do think Swansea have had our kecks down over him. At the current performance level, he isn't worth a tenth of his fee.

Never in a million years? Just two weeks later, same thing happened at both Man City v Liverpool and at Leicester v Wolves. Both awarded penalties.
Didn’t see the Leicester game but Gomez wasn’t the same as Robertson at all
