Firstly when Clough was sacked my first reaction was pleasing, not ecstatic but above the 50/50 line. Like most everybody else when Adkins was was appointed I was ecstatic way over 50/50. So how do I feel now,mid Feb, mid table, playing boring football. I do not go along with most on here about "our players are shit" after over seven months in charge the finger has to pointed at Adkins and his coaches, I am classed as an easy going type, dont find fault forthe sake of finding fault, lose a game we are shit, win a game we are great, never rests with me, however I have never agreed with this you have to give the manager time, how long is time? If it aint working, time up for me, I realise this does not fit with alot ofpeopleand as I say I regard myself as sensible, think it through type, but the management have to accept we are way off the mark, and cannot see where its going to change, summer? Possibly, I cannot predict the future but if I read in the press in the next few days that NA has gone I wouldbe back to where I was a few months ago when I heard about Clough, pleased, not ecstatic but just over the 50/50 mark.

My feeling is that he's clueless. Where is the passion and confidence that a man like this should bring.

He clearly doesn't have the dressing room
And he clearly doesn't know how to win it back

He's going nowhere unless we have a dramatic slump and are flirting with relegation by the end of the season. Time for changing the manager isn't now. Amazingly we're still just five off the play offs. Not sure what options he has left for the team selection v Port Vale though. Seems like he's tried everything, and nothing works.

This, we know the players are shit, even the ones he brought in, OK Billy's doing well, but 3rd tier fuck sake.
He was never going to be the messiah with the shit he inherited, but at least I thought we would see improvement. Nanna, zilch, fuck all, nothing.

Makes no odds to me that. The dressing room needs losing and a better one finding.

These players were slow and dull under Clough. They're still slow and dull now, but they also know their time is up and have no future here. Cheerio lads.

How can a manager play such defensive football against a team thats leaking goals like nobodys business what must have been in his mind. Surely going for the jugular must have been the best form of defence when burys confidence was so low tactically if you gave adkins a clue he wouldnt know what to do with it

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we lose at home to Burton and Adkins is sacked.

The boardroom's pride being punctured by their scapegoat rolling into town and taking the points... It's happened before and wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Neil Warnock?

Much as though I objected to the mess Clough made, the current board's attempt to wash their hands of it was pathetic.

It's time McCabe fucked off.

I've never regretted us sacking Clough, as far as I'm concerned he was a dark cloud over the club and we're still dealing with the repercussions ( and a couple of nice days out in the FA Cup counts for fuck all).

Adkins underwhelming start at United only proves that nobody could achieve anything with this parade of cunts on the pitch and in the boardroom. There isn't a single manager at this level that I would have over Adkins.
A full summer, and at the very least half a season in 2016/17 is required for him to make his mark properly. Any other outcome will get us nowhere and will more than likely drag the club even further down as far as I'm concerned.

But on paper this squad is an improvement on last season. So why are we performing worse than we did last season under Clough?

Adkins was made to sell Murphy and brought in four players with the proceeds. There were also players out of contract. I think we'd have been better of keeping Murphy and signing nobody.

No Jamie Murphy? And oddly, no Doyle.

Also, Adkins plays in a different way. He's clearly not been able to bring in the players he was promised. We can't play the way we played last season as Doyle not replaced. However crap he was he does a certain job which we relied on.

I'm not suggesting Adkins isn't underperforming - he is.

But in mitigation we lost our only player of real pace and flair in August. We don't have a player remotely as dangerous as Murphy. We lost Done and Brayford to bad injuries and both have struggled for form since.

And fundamentally, something is awry at the club. Not sure what exactly, but it emanates from above.

Because it's not simply the squad. It's the whole ethos which runs through the team. Adkins can't turn that around, his only option is to ship out those wankers and bring in his own personnel.

Needless to say I'll take great pleasure in watching these nomarks slide into oblivion having ballsed up the best opportunity they ever had.

Doyle was more of a scapegoat last season than Baxter, McCeverly, Collins or anyone else. He was probably our most slated player. Many fans were happy to say that anyone would be better than Doyle. So if we haven't adequately replaced him, what does that say about our recruitment?

The players aren't good enough, our best one who got us about 20 points last season on his own was sold. With the exception of Billy the team hasn't improved. I believe if he is actually backed in the summer we'll go up.
