Kevin McCabe is the new interim chairman of the Sheffield United football club board, it was announced today (Wednesday 25th June).
Mr McCabe, who with his family own more than 75% of the club, takes on the additional responsibility alongside his current role of chairman of Sheffield United PLC.

Current chairman Terry Robinson is stepping down - as previously announced - but will remain as a director of the football club board.
Mr Robinson will continue to head up operations at Hungarian sister club, Ferencvaros, and take an active role in football related matters at Bramall Lane.

"It was always the intention that Terry would step down because of his other commitments and responsibilities with Sheffield United football business, both here and abroad," said Mr McCabe.

"In the meantime, as an interim move for next season, I will step in as chairman to provide continuity until a replacement is found," added Mr McCabe.
