In the last few games I think it's fair to say we haven't been at our best, or at least not at our best for the whole 90 minutes. It's obviously a good sign when you don't play well and still win as we did last night, but I was trying to think what has been our best performance this season over 90 minutes?

Out of the games I've been to, I think it's the Port Vale game. 4 goals and 4 disallowed (I reckon at least 2 were very dubious). If we'd have won 10-0 that day, it wouldn't have flattered us, such was our superiority.

It was also after that game, that I thought we could really challenge for promotion.

How do you define 'best' though? Most stylish? I actually like it when the opposition gives us a challenge and we have to dig deep. For me, that's what being winners is about. Anyone can look good if the opponents don't turn up.

Swindon away 1st half we were fantastic, pretty much perfect display, only thing missing was we should have scored more than the 2 we got

I thought Charlton was a near complete away performance, except for conceding late and very much out of the blue. I cannot remember ever feeling more relaxed at 1-0 away than in that match. Our ball retention and our capacity to always appear in control but on the front foot was fantastic that day.

Felt like a defeat coming out of the Valley didn't it,after being, like you say in total control, bloody good day out though

I'm not defining it, up to you BB, whatever you think.

Charlton away, Vale at home. Some good 45 mins performances (Swindon home 2nd half, Scunny away 1st half). Bradford away most entertaining by a country mile

Probably Bolton then. Complete as in they came for the points, we stood up to everything they could throw at us and beat them fairly comfortably in the end.

Away at Cov, with all the crap going off around them and the pressure of expectation to win was a great display of mental strength. Not a great watch though. Last night was another pressure game we came through with flying colours, by all accounts. We just wouldn't have won those kind of games under most of our previous managers.

My only criticism is that in many games our dominance hasn't been fully reflected by our goals scored but I think that's just modern football. Defenders are just so well organised and drilled these days.

I'd like to think the best is still to come. We're due a really big win. 5-0 at MK Dons would please me very much indeed. But I've got a feeling that Bradford at home will be a good one.

Scunny at home. Completely and totally tore them apart first half. Granted they have been in poor form but more since then to be fair. The gulf in class was massive.

Incidentally, bumped into someone Tuesday who was in the Scunny dressing room that match(well is every game to be honest) Pained him to admit how superior we were in every department. Off the record they knew it and it really shocked them.
Also said best team by a mile, and also best side in this league for a long time. Nailed on champions apparently.

Peterborough away was great. Cheap to get in, we had a whole stand and part of another, went 4-3-3 to try and turn the draw into a win when it was 0-0 and then did so with a late goal from Billy Sharp.

Perfect.

I really hope so too. We're well overdue giving someone a rayt tonking and it would be sweet if it was MK. More likely to be chessy though.
