Is it me or is Morgs getting better and better, sure he still makes the odd mistake but his reading of the game is very good.

He's been a rock for us for so long now and so many doubters have been silenced, he used to be slow to react at times and it often resulted in a rash challenge, but now every tackle is timed perfectly and with crunching force as ever.

Add to this the fact that he is a fantastic leader, never hides and takes responsibilty himself.

He's always been an honest, heart on your sleeve player and he seems to demand 110% from everyone, having a go when needed, but not bullying players when they make mistakes.

Attacking wise I think he's also improved, although i'd never like to see him run with the ball like Killa does.

He's always there clearing his lines when needed. He leaves the passing and thinking to Killa and those around him.
Is he the hardest and best leader we've had for a long time? I think so.

After the mud that was thrown around after Hume ran into his elbow, he could've been forgiven for shying away, but not Morgs.

Finally, the best thing about him is he never ever forgets the Blades Fans, this was instilled into many players under NW, but now Morgs always makes sure he comes to the Kop, at Wembley he did the same. It gave me goosebumps to see him there after that game.

After the Derby on Friday he came along to the Kop and applauded us, but best of all he wiped his brow as if to say, we just scraped through.

Top man - Morgan for England! :D

I think that ever since the Hume affair he's been on the top of his form, keeping the strong defending but cutting out the hot temper which has sometimes cost him (and us) in the past. Great leader on and off the pitch. Shame an amazing save kept him off the scoresheet on friday!

Top thread SwissBlade

I love Morgs to bits, and he has the perfect foil with Killa next to him. Why Morgs attacks everything, Killa can just drop off and use his pace to mop anything up

Agree that he has been a rock for many years, and more so since the Hume incident!

I think when he got dropped for Cahill that did him the power of good, as it showed that despite him being the captain, he's still droppable. Since then i'd agree he's been fantastic.

He'd be the first name on the sheet every week for me. Without him we seem to fall apart.

Top professional and one of a dying breed of no nonsense centre halves.

Long live captain Morgan and for many years may we sail with him at the helm!

Post Hume he has been awesome, and indeed so good has he been that he has made Killgallon look even better than he really is, possibly to the extent that Killa will be "stolen" from us. It will be interesting to see (if he does go), how well Killa does without Morgs winning every aerial battle for him.

If I were a centre half I would just love to play alongside someone like Morgs.

Long live the Morgster.

Captain fantastic, he also stepped up his game during the Prem season, nobody likes playing against him, he would and could run through a wall for the blades, respected by all players, even when he was not playing and became club captain

Nobody likes playing against him because their hands are nearly broken from his prematch handshake!

I once high fived him........my whole arm ached for hours after!!!!!!

Cue filthy comments .............

I think Chris Morgan is the classic example of the late blossoming centre half, the player who spends a lot of time in the lower divisions serving his time and learning his trade and through guts, efforts and a willingness to take the blows and use them to make to him stronger.

He is everything you would want in a centre-half except he could do with another 2 or 3 inches (couldn't we all) and a bit more pace. He has now added maturity, presence and know-how.

He is a magnificent tough-as-teak old-style defender who gives and takes without complaint. He is our John Terry. A talismanic leader A huge credit to our club. I'm proud to have him as captain.

I think the guy really takes captaining us very seriously, i have to say i watched him for the first 30 mins of the game friday and every time there was a break in play he went to talk to davies and helped him out and i noticed davies improved as the game went on, i think that was down to morgs giving him a confidence boost.

He's a top guy and great captain. He was my man of the match friday simply because of his man management of players.

Chris Morgan is class!! You wont find a more solid defender in the league,Love that man

Only Colquhoun and Kenworthy can rival him at centre half in the past 40 years.

Sitting as I more than not do these days in the BLUT, what is noticeable is that you can sometimes see Morgs having 'a quiet word with himself'. The Ipswich game last season Counago was trying his hardest to get a reaction from Morgs and after one incident he took a visibly deep breath and counted to 10.

Chris Morgan does not kick arse and take names. In fact, Chris Morgan kicks arse and assigns the corpse a number. It is currently recorded to be in the billions.

You know all those "facts" about Chuck Norris? They fail to mention that he's scared of Chris Morgan. In fact, and this is true, Chuck Norris is so scared of Chris Morgan that he won't even go into a bar that serves Captain Morgan rum. Chuck Norris is so scared of Chris Morgan that he left the country once because he heard Chris Morgan was coming on holiday.

Chris Morgan is scared of nothing. Killer robots, big fuck-off tigers, scary-ass dinosaurs, aliens, tax collectors, bus ticket inspectors, dinner ladies, wasps, they all hold no fear for him.
Mike Tyson? The Terminator? Darth Vader? He shits 'em.

What about the big bad wolf...????:D:D

Surely even Morgs has a certain amount of fear of the Tax Man?

Also I noticed in earlier threads that someone said that Morgs was our 'John Terry'. Yes he's a leader like Terry, but thats where the comparisons end.

Morgs is a true Blade and always stands up to be counted, with Terry I see a man that always has a lot of players to get him out of trouble and never holds his hands up when he fooks up. Plus he's a Chelsea Nonce.

After the late goal other night, wanted to get our Captain Fantastic back to the front. Yes he has become a better player, looks sideways a lot more for a pass. and the little jinked headers to Walker prove this. Is he Like Stan the man? Cannot find those great pictures though, anyone help?

He lost it a bit early on Tuesday, didn't he? We saw flashes of the Morgs of old there, thought he was lucky to escape without punishment. That said, he was good for the rest of the game.

Is it just me or his he getting bigger? His arms look like legs now, they're so muscular.

You've got to love him, even if his face is one only a mother could.

He's a proper legend. He's getting bigger, but he's walking around now like he's got 8 stone balls of steel.

I'd planned to come back for the Dingles game away until it got moved, so I had to cancel my trip. For me I just wanted to marvel at Morgs going back to the place thats been talked about so much and watch how he stands up to them, but maintains his temper.

One Chris Morgan
