Morgan Gibbs White is the best player I’ve ever seen wearing a United shirt.

I’ve been thinking this for a while now so this certainly isn’t a knee jerk from tonight’s performance.

The thought crossed my mind and I laughed it off and then couldn’t remember a better player? I’ve been watching since about 95/96 so I’ve not got the luxury of the Currie years or even really Whitehouse in his prime.

Before you laugh it off, if this is as outlandish as it seems, you’ll be able to name 5 better easily.

Noteable mentions to:

  • Jags when we went up or at CM in the promotion year
  • Gary speed running our midfield
  • Beattie (James)

I think we’re insanely lucky to have him. If he leaves Wolves in the summer it’s for 30 million plus I’d say when you consider his versatility and age and experience for his age. We’ve never owned a player like that in my lifetime.

He's a more athletic and dynamic Duffy

Fair. I's a certainty that he's the best loan player we've ever had! The thing that impresses me most about him is how he's just bought into the club. He acts like he gives a shit, and I don't just mean off the pitch semantics. The way he plays, the absurd number of yards he puts in & the way he gets stuck into a tackle (sometimes a bit over the top) for an attacker, is fabulous to see.

He isn't just here to get some minutes. He's here because he's up for it. I like the kid.

I suppose it depends how long you’ve been watching United.

If a baby opens its eyes for the first time and sees Susan Boyle on the telly, by definition she is the fittest bird it has ever seen.
I covered this in the OP didn’t I. I’ve watched united home and away since the late 90s. Granted not since I moved to Germany 3 years ago but I’ve hardly only just opened my eyes.

Tonge was great for about a season, then for some reason stopped even trying to go past players and played ultra safe.
Still drives me mad. He had days where he looked like Pele in Escape to Victory
