Morgan and Reid

Not too fussed about Morgan but Reid is a massive blow - he looked quality when he came on.

I feel very sorry for Morgs. He has been a good servant for the club and a true professional. His injury, however, comes at a time when we should be looking for his long-term replacement in any event. That process must be accelerated: someone young, big and athletic in the mould of Wood, Shackell, Mills. Certainly not Ertl, Noz, Lowton or anyone presently at the club.

The Reid thing, on the other hand, is indeed devastating. I do hope we have not seen the last of him. We are not over-blessed with footballing midfielders!

So its definate and comfirmed because someone said so on Blades Mad?

There is a little more depth to the claims in this instance. But you are right to not believe everything you read on the message boards and not to consider it official confirmation.

If this is true then its a shrug of the shoulders from me. With the way things are going it doesnt surprise me in the slightest. Losing our captain would be a blow, no matter how well he is playing.

It would have been nice to see more of Reid but as he was only here for a month anyway its no great loss. Good player but how much impact could he have had over 3 or 4 games?.........

You mean Flat Bob don't you Foxy?;)

I was lead to believe this season we wouldnt be relying on loans. We only want long term players.Whats happened?

We were linked with Nile Rangers and Ryan Donaldson earlier this season. Best is just back from injury, like Reid...

Player called Ryan Noble has been mentioned

Was loaned to Derby from guess where?..................yes Sunderland, but injured his back and returned. Apparantly, didn't settle at Derby and doesn't want to go back.

Apologies, as this has gone off topic and digressing means it should be on the rumour board

If it's true about Reid then that's a shitter, but he was only here for a month anyway. Presumedly he will be sent back or are we picking up the tab for the entire month?

The news about Morgan is a hammer blow, as this means Nos will be a first choice centre-back. I couldn't imagine anything worse to be honest.:(

if morgan is out for the season were down. we cant defend and we cant score, we lose our best (of a bad bunch) defender. oh god help us now.

Morgan at his best was excellent. He has far too many poor games now though & on Sat was a total liability. He wasn't commanding at all and continually gave stupid fouls away in dangerous positions. I think Bartley is ok (most of the time) and we now need Nosworthy to step up & prove us all wrong.

if we are to be using him, we need the Nos from Forest away.

I have a Sunderland supporting mate who says he was excellent for them & he was disappointed to see him go out on loan - I don't think he was being sarcastic either!

To be fair, I've seen him look fantastic myself... He just seems to be completely random at it :)

I think we can expect him at least in the squad on Saturday... Training further unscathed this week permitting :)

A touch harsh, don't think I've ever posted stuff from BM on here as my own. :(

I'm not posting this as my own post, hence the link! E89 is a recognised ITK poster. I'm just spreading the word!

Personally, I believe E89 is a player. He's been around for a few years so is 1 of the old heads in the squad (probably Stephen Quinn at an educated guess)

if i was speed i'd tell him to put his feet up for the rest of the week:D

In modern football the top centre-backs are tall, powerful and athletic. The vast majority are at least 6ft 2 and many, like Samba, Knight, Hangeland, Huth, Shawcross, Wood to name but a few, even bigger.

Noz is a comparative Pygmy. We are being left behind in so many areas.

He's a stopgap. And our other stopgap centreback meets your specification.

If there's a way in which we're being left behind it's the fact we don't have our own centrebacks...
