The Star said:SHEFFIELD United manager Kevin Blackwell has confirmed the arrival of Ched Evans, Ryan France and Keith Treacy at Bramall Lane doesn't mark the end of his spending in the transfer market.
The trio were unveiled as United players at Shirecliffe yesterday where it was also confirmed that Leigh Bromby, who returned on loan from Watford last season, has signed a two year contract.
Evans, a £3m capture from Manchester City, turned down a host of Championship and Premier League clubs while France had been training with Sheffield Wednesday after leaving Hull.
Treacy, the Blackburn Rovers winger, will spend six months on loan.
Speaking before this afternoon's friendly at Bury, Blackwell revealed he is looking to bolster his squad with more temporary signings ahead of next month's televised visit to Middlesbrough.
"The loan market is definitely something that I'm looking at," he said. "I'm interested in quality not quantity.
"We are going to have a slightly smaller squad and although I'm happy with how we are looking, it is inevitable that we are going to pick-up injuries along the way. There are a number of possibilities."
Having sold Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker to Tottenham for £8m, United have reached an agreement with the Londoners giving them first option on a number of Harry Redknapp's players. Walker is poised to return on a 12 month loan.
France, who has accepted a two year deal, and Treacy, a Republic of Ireland under-21 international, join fellow new faces Lee Williamson, Kyel Reid and Andy Taylor at United.
Blackwell added: "Ched is already a terrific player and he's got more to come. We're looking forward to helping him develop that potential here.
"You are never going to see Ryan's name banded about in the press but he's a model pro; a manager's dream. Phil Brown at Hull doesn't have a bad word to say about him.
"He's versatile too and, because we're going with fewer numbers, you've got to have people who can do that. Ryan's got a great attitude and he just gets on with his job.
"The chance came up and you've got to act quickly or you miss out.
"Keith is someone we've been looking at for a while. He's got a sweet left foot and, like Ched, he's only going to keep on getting better."
United will be a forced to be reckoned with next season, Alan Knill predicts.
Speaking ahead of today's friendly, the Bury manager said: "When you look at the options they've got, then I think most people will expect United to do well.
"This is going to be a great game for us. We played each other at the same stage last season and it was pretty competitive.
"The start of the league isn't far away and so most club's are going to start concentrating on what they think will be their first team. The intensity starts to increase
