Blades midfielder Nick Montgomery has been given the all-clear to resume full training after seeing his specialist on Tuesday.
Montgomery who suffered a dislocated shoulder at Aston Villa in May, had seven pins inserted into the joint to repair the damage and has been unable to join in contact work so far during pre-season.
Blades boss Bryan Robson said, "Monty has seen the specialist and has been given the all-clear to join in physical contact work."
He then confirmed Montgomery would probably make an appearance in a reserve friendly before the season gets on the way.
Robson stated, "I am going to look at the reserve games to get him some action, I feel Forest will be too much for him at this stage."
The Gaffer is pleased with Monty's overall fitness and contribution during pre-season and has praised his attitude and discipline.
The manager concluded, "He has done a lot of ball work and is a naturally fit lad. He has worked tirelessly in the gym and looks very good in general."
