Every club needs a Monty, and we missed him when he wasn't about. It would be nice if we could have 'total football', or the samba magic, but we can't.

I like Monty and I think that if you pair him with the right partner he can be a real asset. He offers the back four a lot of protection and is a real work horse. He should always be in the squad and be in and around the team. Personally I'd play Harper and Williamson as they are better footballers. However, I have no qualm with playing Monty with Williamson or Harper.

Monty is the most important midfielder at our club. We only notice this when he isn't playing. His critics on this site only focus on what he can't do, rather than what he can.

He would be more effective if Blackie could get Williamson fit or get more from Harper, who I happen to think is also a good player.

WOW over 79% would play him every game that has surprised me I have to say.

I voted a place on the bench as I am a Monty fan but feel he is only appropriate against certain opposition. Glad to see he's got some backing though!

I totally agree with the first choice pairing of Harps and Willo.

However, i would only bring Monty in due to injury or suspesion of these two. Even away from home - sod the opposition. let them worry about us for a change instead of chopping and changing all the time

I'm not suprised. First thing you do when you lose the ball is get it back as soon as possible to limit damage.

What you do with the ball once you've got is another ball game together.

I just look at the points we get with him in the side agianst the ones we lose when hes out of it
Neverdone it scientifically but in my mind we pick up more with Monty in the team than without,perhaps somebody would check it properly?
He has finally got in Williamson what he has always needed ,a ball player who makes himself available and offers to take the ball that Monty has won and play it.
I garuntee if we dont (have we yet )get him resigned clubs ,including some from the Premiership will be queing up to take him on .
