He's not quite even reached 32 yet so surely he must have at least one PL season left in him.

He has plenty of athleticism to fall back on, can play deeper or advanced and has goals in him.

He's an experienced player who could help us a lot next season.

Definitely up there with Fer and Mikel as a free agent midfielder to consider.

Newcastle wouldn’t play him because two more games would have triggered a contract extension.
