He made some Hollywood saves, but to concede Leon's 4th would be embarrassing for a Sunday league keeper. (As said) his distribution was pants.

6/10 for me.

I like away keepers having MOTM performances as long as there still on the end of an arseholing ... job done Blades

I thought he made a couple of outstanding saves (nothing 'Hollywood' about them) and I don't see what he did wrong on the 4th goal. He had no chance the way Clarke hit it from that range. I know people criticise keepers who don't dive for a shot, but as a keeper you know when you've no chance of stopping it. Diving in the general direction is just trying to make it look good.

Liked Billy tapping hands with him after the save from Leon in the first half, professional respect good to see

That reflex save from Leon in the first half looked a worldie imo

and so did the two saving tackles. One from Enda Servens and the other by Jake Wright......................quality

By Holywood, I'm talking about a couple of occasions where he parried in an acrobatic manner. There were some great saves, but there were a few that were over exaggerated.

Not sure I'm in agreement with you about the 4th either. I've watched it a couple of times and I don't think it's unstopabble. I would be disappointed if Moore or Blackman made that mistake.

Moore parried a couple too. It seems to be more common now. I remember when I started going (late 80s), punching and parrying were relatively unusual in England. If the keeper could get to it, he generally tried to keep hold of it. I think it's the way the balls move more in the air now, that punching and parrying are considered safer options.

I think on the 4th, with Clarke so close and central, the keeper pretty much had to gamble and go one way or the other to have a chance. It looked to me as if McGregor was moving his weight to his left, and Clarke put it to his right.

Although Jnr would not thank me for mentioning it (although it is a bit of a backhanded compliment), he was a clear MOTM in a 11-0 defeat at U14's. The ratio of saves to goals was remarkable, the experience is still etched on both our consciousnesses. It did act as the catalyst for him to move on to bigger and better things though.

Character building as my old man used to say HB:)

Did anyone spot their number 7 shake Leon’s hand when he was going off?
Class and respect ✊
Yeah i noticed that. I think it was Grosicki the one who scored for them. Thought he was a bit of a nob with the whole Ronaldo celebration but fair play to him. He obviously realised he was in the presence of greatness so it was a nice show of respect. glttl

Yes I saw that but also saw their coaches going apeshit at him for doing it. Well done to the lad, sometimes you just have to acknowledge quality.
