Kevin McCabe, United's plc Chairman, has clarified the club's position regarding manager Neil Warnock's contract amid constant media speculation.
It has been widely reported that the United manager's contract is set for expiry next summer, whilst some sources have gone as far as to tout him for other jobs, mainly due to United's excellent start to the Championship season.
However, Mr McCabe said on ******day: "We have an option to extend Neil's contract at the end of the season so, to all intents and purposes, his contract does not end until June 2007.
"As far as we are concerned the Board has a fantastic relationship with Neil and will look again at the situation later in the season, as is the norm."
Warnock has been in charge at Bramall Lane since December 1999 and the Blades fan is one of the longest serving managers in the Football League.
