I seem to remember he was to be let go from the acadamy but got a last chance and got sent to hungary where he got rave reviews. When he came back we suddenly realised we had a decent player after all.
Maybe going out on loan to develop does work...

I was at Villa Park the other week when they played Man Ure and the Villa fans I was speaking to do not rate him at all. Comments like: Has No Pace, No Control, No Awareness (hence why he just has a go a goal from time to time). I thought they were a bit harsh but I'm afraid he did look rather mediocre and deservedly got booked when he lost his head.

Good player for us but I do believe he is currently playing out of his depth.

Not easy being a fullback in the prem. Even Kyle Walker has looked a bit dodgy at times. Still think he's the ability to make it, but wouldn't say no to him being loaned back here

He wasn't good, but then he was playing at centre half rather than right back. He was barely a right back when he was with us he played that far forward...

You'd struggle to get any Brummie to sound enthusiastic about, well, anything.

Lowton was being spoken of in terms of an England call up by the end of last season. His dropping early this season is part of what many Villa fans see as Lambert's awful negativism this time around.

I don't think he'll play for England as he's not physically or defensively good enough. But as an attacking full back in a middling PL team he's excellent.

Yeah... I'd read that on a Villa forum. She was pregnant and wanted to be close to her Mam and it prompted a fallout at Villa once they'd found out.
