it is sure making me think about the number of times i will be visiting the lane next season when ive got £50 petrol on top of £30 ON THE KOP , cheers blades !

Im gutted about this news, robbin fucks!!! Its expensive as it is with travel, food, programme etc.... now with the prices going up i'll be missing alot more games than I wanted too.

why wouldn't you want to pay that amount for the attractive style of football we play - probably not much more to watch barcelona flying ryannair return.

I'm in the process of signing up for a season ticket for the new MLS team in Vancouver. Admittedly it's the MLS (the S stands for shit quality) but a season ticket is 200 quid making each game just over 10 quid each.

34 quid for a blade game is horrific.

It makes the season ticket even more worth the while. £20 quid a game for the most expensive, and if you have a child that's for two of you.

Season tickets have always been good value and that's why I have had one for years regardless of how dire the previous season might have been. Mind you, there are some seasons when it has been a close call.

It also helps that a cheap day return on the train from Leeds is only £8.80 - means I can have a beer or three as well.

As suggested above, I suppose it's a tactic to push people into buying season tickets. The problem is it's too late.

This is the first season in many years I haven't bought a ST - not because of the football (I kept supporting them when they were relegated from the old Division 2 - I'm not going to stop because they finish 8th in the Championship) but because having made the 300 mile round trip for most games last season, I decided to cut down my number of games at BDTBL and go to more away games in the south (where I now live), paying per game when I do visit the lane.

If these prices had been announced earlier, I would have renewed my ST, because for the number of games I'll attend it would be cheaper than these prices. But the deadline for renewals has passed, and I'm not paying the higher price.... so I'll just go to far fewer games at the lane instead.

The strategy seems a little confused....

I'm baffled (maybe I shouldn't be) about how new supporters will be attracted now? By all means try and frighten people into packages - I'm guessing that's what Bob is alluding to - with headline prices of £34 a go, but how do they expect people to get to the stage where they would consider it if the opening offer represents such shite value for money? Do we put "I will always ensure football remains affordable at Bramall lane" in the "Europe in 5 years" basket?

Personally, I decided against renewing 2 ST's but still envisaged 14/15 or so visits. If the football is as shite this year as it was last, knock the 1 off.

1st run of bad results and crowds will drop, with these ticket prices for non season ticket holders.

Not a moan Raul imo A rip off; the management team that decided this can do a flying one. There was little enjoyment from the Blades at ally last season. They should be ashamed and reduce the prices accordingly.

£34 to watch:

2 Ryan France Midfielder
4 Nick Montgomery Midfielder
5 Chris Morgan Defender
7 Darius Henderson Striker
9 Ched Evans Striker
11 Mark Yeates Midfielder
12 Lee Williamson Midfielder
16 Andy Taylor Defender
17 Richard Cresswell Striker
18 Jamie Ward Striker
24 Billy Sharp Striker
28 Stephen Quinn Midfielder
30 Mihkel Aksalu Goalkeeper
34 Matthew Lowton Defender

Laughable.

To be fair Rodders, with 5 strikers in there that's an attacking line-up.

Am I missing something here?

We are struggling out of a recession (may be over, might not be), we've been hit by a job costing/wage freezing austerity budget (which will hit hardest in January when VAT rises), and we have whacked prices up alarmingly.

These clevor businessmen we have running the club must know something I don't. Huge price increases in times of hardship. When did that ever work?

luckily my student card doesn't have an expiry date!! best start saving my pennies though
