Not too fussed with Stears coming in for Egan. Whilst he isn't as good as the latter, it shouldn't have too much of an impact. The obvious one is Mcgoldrick sitting slightly deeper behind Sharp & Clarke, interested to see how this one plays out.

Agree
He may prove to be the best option to Duffy in that role short term.

Agree that Mcg should be able to play the Duffy role but the fact we are going to find out for the first time in a league game illustrates how little cover we have for Duffy. This has to be the first area we strengthen in January, followed very quickly by a centre forward.

Poor by our 1st half standards, but leading at HT. Credit to Wigan for not letting us settle on the ball in midfield. Missing duffy, though Goldie one of our better player. Windass has had stearman in his pocket first half unfortunatly, constantly getting infront of him.

Hopefully they will tire before us.

We looked very vulnerable down the right hand side today. Wigan could have had a hatful. Great to win though....!

Definitely took the chances today, they didn't have a Sharp to finish off their chances that seemed to be the difference. Fleck, McGoldrick and Basham picking up cards, think Basham misses the Forest game the only downside. Another three points we move on :)

Scrappy today, and a bit wobbly at the back but a great result, and Billy Sharp. Someone find the Holy Grail and give him a sup.

See if Sky can squeeze the highlights into 45 seconds today.

We got 1.15 when we scored 4 against Villa, they got our four goals into a thirty second slot and then a 45 second slot which included Villa's entire play

Strange game.

God knows what we could've done to them with Duffy on the pitch. We missed him a lot today yet they still managed to give us 4 goals that we barely had to work for. They were shocking defensively.

We didn't play well but Billy got 3 chances and was very clinical. The third was a great finish.

Agree bizarre game we missed both Duffy for his ability to hold the ball up and dictate play in front of their back four and Egan's ability in the air at the back. We were wide open for all of the game down the left hand side of our defence yet didn't do anything about it and both their goals came down this side. Sharp made the difference with his running off the ball meaning we were releasing the ball earlier and looked more of a threat because of it. Billy's second goal was best for me and he said so himself, first time passing and a great assist from Leon. Who says they can't play together. At least Sharps performance today should ensure its a choice of him and one other for the forward positions each week.

The second was the best goal, the third was the best finish. Great cross from Clarke on the second.

Felt like the worst performance of the season at home, although to be fair we have had some superb performances this season, I actually thought that was goldies worst game for us, he wasn't rubbish but not up to his usual high standards same goes for Freeman, after saying thst we could have scored more and we are top of the league

We brute forced that I think. Still some quality but a lot more direct and scrappy from us.

McG did a great job I think, he's more inclined to look forward if there's a a sniff of an option on though, whereas Duffy thinks a few more passes in front but overall very good, what a bargain he's been.

I just wish we could have kept it 4-1 for another 10 minutes and then we may have got to see Woodburn.

Duffy was missed and Billy was always getting MOTM for the hat trick, but Norwood was key to three of the four goals,

Also good to see Leon looking more energetic and up for it the last two games.
