Sheffield United could be boosted by the speedy return of winger Lee Martin for next Tuesday's Steel City derby.

Martin was signed on loan from Manchester United by former manager Bryan Robson, but has been recuperating at Old Trafford since February after damaging knee ligaments during the Blades' FA Cup defeat by Middlesbrough.

"There's a possibility that Lee could come back to us," boss Kevin Blackwell told the Sheffield Star.

"They (Manchester United) do not feel now as if he needs an operation and so we're hopeful he can be involved again soon. We'll have to see."

Martin, 21, is unlikely to be available for the Blades' match with Leicester at the weekend.
