The one player I'd give a free pass to.

Effort throughout, typified by the tracking back & tackle before he got taken off. Clever movement across the line, regularly trying to make things happen.

Seems to be beset by mistakes, but always wiling to take the ball and take responsibility.

If only the other 13 used tonight had a fraction of his willingness to take responsibility.

Really shocking. Bar Duffy.

It's a shame he's not 3 years younger and can play 90 minutes. He does need players with pace around him to be fully effective (which we don't have)

Still clearly has something, he was voted the best singer in the division last season. I imagine it helps if you know the bloke behind you can defend and you're not worrying about having to cover him if the ball gets lost.

I feel for him.

He's not been great so far but I won't slate him too much. He's a good support player - by that I mean he needs movement and pace around him. And as per usual, we have none of that.

I thought he was Shite. His track back and tackle was good but he's not the same player that has ripped our left backs apart over the years.

Coutts and Clarke were best players tonight

Yeah, thought Coutts was decent and moved the ball well - but always so safe, never being creative or penetrative (as has always been the case with him here).

Clarke was awful IMO, but through no real fault of his own. He's no battering ram, he's a skilful footballer. If we wanted to just lump it upfield in the way we have the last two games, we'd have been better off just bringing Donkey Darius back.

Yeah you really can't blame people like Clarke for struggling. This isn't his game what so ever. Or even the likes of Fleck, the ball is hit over him at every opportunity.

He's shown some decent touches, but he doesn't have the pace for a wide player. Maybe more useful "in the hole" in a midfield 3 with other players providing width & pace?

Thought he was awful and looks weak, needs the ball in space as he can't take players on. Agree about Coutts.

agree with the above , first half was way off his game I was giving him some vertbal abuse in the bar , but a good player plugs away at it , and to his credit Duffy did and was magnificent in the final third of the game, it was like someone flicked a switch
was involved in every dangerous move second half

first half 4
second half 9

I said during the game that he's done nothing from the outside right area all season, when he's supposed to be a right winger..... a few minutes later, he set up Sharp's goal from the byline, having brilliantly set up Fleck a few minutes before!

He was excellent in the second half after a poor and frustrating first.

He is shouldering a large responsibility in this side.

Coutts and Fleck have to create to some extent but primarily just need to mop up attacks, and recycle possession (admittedly feck is driving us forward too)

Duffy bears the weight of creating for the front two. I'd suggest he has one of the most difficult roles to play and attacking players are inconsistent by nature - if he was 9 out of 10 every game he wouldn't be at this level.

I like that he never hides or lets his head go down and is reaping the rewards for his hard work in second half. He's been quently effective lately.

I read this and thought 'eh what? which game have you been watching?'...then I saw the date when you posted it!

Can't believe the negativity towards him, if he had great pace he would be playing for a top 6 championship side not for us, he is vital for our midfield because he is always trying to make things happen , and never gives up trying . For that reason , every game he is going to misplace a pass or two. But normally it is high up the pitch so we should be able to deal with that. Duffy is class in this division . Hes head never goes down, he keeps trying to be positive and get the ball forward .
