A Brazilian triallist jets into Bramall Lane next month - a result of United's developing worldwide links and scouting network.

Marcos Paulo is a 19-year-old currently with the Caldense club and arrives in Sheffield looking to impress Bryan Robson and United's coaching staff.

The 6ft defensive midfielder has spent time with Atletico PR and Cruzeiro, and should he suitably impress he would be able to sign for United as he also holds an Italian passport.

United have links with Brazilian giants Sao Paulo FC, and officials and players from the club were at Bramall Lane recently, alongside the world's greatest ever player, Pele.

This is good, starting to show the hard work that has been put in off field is working for sure. Long may it continue as one day we will find a gem of a player to bring to the lane.
