Having read the other thread, a couple of things jump out: -

- Certain of our fans blame our club for everything, even when it is made clear that it's not their fault
- That even when the club do what they can to reduce the price, some fans still take a pop at the Prince for not subsidising the full price

Yes it's expensive and no it can't be justified but the club have confirmed that they tried to negotiate a lower price and it looks like they have discounted the price for season ticket holders / members - realistically that's the best that they can do given that Man U are protecting income from 60,000+ "must buys" compared with our 9,000 "can buys".

The best they can do is grow a pair of bollocks and refuse the tickets. This is bonus money, so technically we don't need it.

If Adkins also picks a shit side like he did at Fulham (and the majority of league games;) ) then there will be some pissed off fans.

It's not that people are blaming the prince and the club, but the club have a chance to follow the lead of FC United and show this up for what it is - a chance to rip fans off by a big club.

I think most people on here have praised the club for their previous work in reducing cup ticket prices, but this is a chance to really take a stand against the rip off premiership clubs...

Yeh, rock on, and throw a bit of Tevez in there as well

Saw some muppets on Facebook criticising SUFC for the prices, then realising it was Man United's fault.

It's Premier League chaps. I don't agree with it, but wasn't it was £60 at Arsenal in the Prem when we were up there?

And that was 10 years ago as well

I'm pretty critical of the club and the way it's run generally but I don't blame them at all for this.

It's clearly just Manchester United that have set these prices as these are similar to what they charge for the Premier League games. I'd put some blame at the FA's door for allowing clubs to dictate the prices but absolve SUFC of any criticism. The club are always pretty good with ticket prices I think, the semi final against Spurs last year was very reasonably priced at about £20 if I recall correctly, when it would have been very easy for them to cash in on higher prices.

Manchester United won't care a jot. They will still get a large crowd because they know away fans will travel on numbers for a chance to see their team perform at Old Trafford, and they have that many fans so even though some regular attendees may turn their nose up at it as it's only Sheffield United, they will still shift tickets to those who don't often get chance to get tickets to see them.

It's a total farce, and a reminder to us of just how ridiculous the Premier League is getting. I'd love us to be back in the Championship because I think it's a really good league to be in, if we were ever to get to the Premier League again though I would obviously be pleased but would very rarely go to any away games because the cost is just far too high.

One thing we can blame the club for is the pathetic reward of 50 loyalty points for anyone willing to shell out that amount of cash to follow them to Manchester. Nice incentive there United.
The allocation of loyalty points costs the club nothing in real terms, so quite frankly it's an insult.

It was £30 at Arsenal.

Just a suggestion, but with the club now earning a windfall from this one game could the club not subsidise tickets for away fans?
Take around £10 off the average prices of around £30 (concessions taken into account) it would cost the club £80,000 but they would still be around £700,000 better off.

Fuck that. The club would or be mad to turn down this money, and many fans including me want to go.

I think the prices are rubbish, but there's a harsh but simple choice for those who think it's too expensive. Don't go.

Of all the expensive cup ties there have been, how many clubs turn down the tickets? - next to none.

Why should we be different, and of those who think it's a good idea, will you be happy when the next player is sold?

I'll be going. Been to Old Trafford 4 times but apart from FA Youth Cup Final not seen the Blades v Man Utd.

This maybe my one and only chance!

We haven't got any players worth selling ;)

Chelsea was £48, that was the one I refused to go to, Spurs wasn't cheap either though from memory.

Agreed. Will you be happy if we don't sign any good ones from now on?

Are we more likely to by going to home games or contributing to Wayne Rooney wages ?

And what response would that justifiably have prompted from fans, I'd hazard a guess at 'typical United, they pocket the TV money and deprive us of the only chance we'll ever have of playing at Old Trafford again'. Nobody is forcing us to buy tickets, we have a free choice.....

More likely to sign players? - no idea
More likely to moan? - The people in question, definitely not. They will squeal like fuck whatever the club does.

As I said earlier, those who think it's too expensive should exercise their right to not go to the game - it's that simple. :)

Great idea, refuse the tickets and piss of fans who want to go, including younger fans who may have never been, plus those who don't need to wave their cock on an Internet firum, and lose over a hundred grand in the meantime. Proper joined up thinking.

Exactly, while I have every sympathy for those who can't justify the expense for financial reasons, I just wish those who aren't going purely on "principal" can say it once and stfu.

I have looked at this seating plan but still do not understand where the different category seats are?

Any ideas?

It was £45 for the lower tier and £48 for the upper. Bad enough, but I had an epiphany when they had no beer, no bovril and no pies. However, they did offer chicken goujons, feckin GOUJONS, at 5 quid a ration, equalling almost a quid a strip.

Clearly, never been back since but the whole Chelsea rip off inspired me to try German football. And the price of tickets, travel, ale and feckin goujons was not much more than going to see Bayern at the new Allianz...

Wake up football your loyal fans are choosing....
