Think that’s the young mop hair midfielder from Bolton . Thought he looked a decent player , wouldn’t cost much if anything and with our new found millions might be worth a punt then lone out to a decent league club in the championship for a season and see how he progresses . I know we should have bigger targets but nothing wrong with planning for the future a bit and he seems a decent prospect. If he doesn’t pull up any trees he can be moved on this time next year . If he excels then we have a player on our hands we’ve paid very little for !!
As ever UTB !!

The premier league - where teams can play a young kid for a couple of games and their value shoots up by £2m per game

Shouldn't be hard to get him, he just wants paying a wage like the rest of their squad. Also noticed Josh Vela has left the club, a couple of years ago he looked destined for big things could Wilder get him going again?

Josh Vela.

Carlos Vela is ex Arsenal and now plays in the MLS.

Not a bad shout and we need to plan for the future as well as now. Bayliss from Coventry and this lad are players we also need to invest in this summer. Buy young up coming players when your stock is up like now as we will lose some if we go down next season.

Would also get Karlan Grant from Huddersfield. Yep we missed the boat from Charlton but he has promise and can play now

While planning for the future is important, I'd prefer we address holes in the first team before splashing money on future prospects. We have a limited budget after all.

Problem is that we have to fill a 25 man squad. We are probably going to be at best 16/17 players and we can’t fill them with First choice players for exactly the same reason, budget.

Talking of which are Sharp and the 3rd choice keepers whose name escapes me the only players in the first team squad to have be in our ranks from youth. Wonder if naughton may become a target

The fact that we need a fair few squad players makes your argument weaker in my opinion, unless you consider Connell good enough to play in the PL?

Brighton failed with a 300k bid back in January apparently.

England have already asked him to consider switching allegences.

Seems well thought of.

I bet you could pick the lad up for a bit less than a fart and a biscuit.

I think we should pick the lad up from the 'sink shitters', pay him a wage, and get him captaining the Blades youth team to develop him. Could be a sound investment.

We haven't signed players for the future like this in Wilder's reign and there are better, more suitable places for him to go.

Good player though and would be a great and probably cheap investment.

We have to think of the future and maybe he could be one of those or even come through quickly. But and it is vital we get players in who can start for us from match one.
Warnock dropped a big bollock by bringing players in ( January window) who weren't ready for premiership and we paid the price of relegation albeit robbed really of our place.

If we can get him cheap, why not? One for the future; just loan him out to a Champ side for next season. Give him a full year down there at someone like Wigan (near home for him, plus we know they play football, are good at bringing on youngsters and Wilder is good mates with Paul Cook). Then next summer, depending on how we do, we either bring him into the squad or flog him on for a nice profit.

In fact, I’d like to see us do similar with 2 or 3 players. Not suggesting blowing all the budget, but its got to be worth investing a bit in a few highly rated potentials?

Under 21s don't count towards the 25 (Connell is 17).

I think he'd be worth a punt for sure. Could even loan him out for game time for a few months, back to the Championship.

Exactly this, under 21s don't count so have a look at Bishop at Ipswich too he also has potential, get them in and then out on loan to championship sides like Barnsley for a season.

This is now the premiership players who do alright in championship need to improve massively to ever be able to compete against the worlds elite in the premiership.

Think these are more football manager signings than real life.

Mr Boo is a clown at Blackpool Tower (The tall one). I'm just a clown.

Maybe some sort of public holiday wouldn't be too much to ask?

I'd suggest the Royal Baby being named after you even, but your username makes that difficult, Mr Boo.

Wolves and Rangers said to be interested.

I see we were one of the clubs linked.

Might be a decent move. We only have Norwood, Fleck and Lundstram.

Left footed too.

I disagree, we could really future proof our squad with a few younger additions, provide some upcomers to replace some of the older players who are key...

i think it’s the one thing we are missing, youth prospects. Also you get one or two players who really do well and it’s silly season for transfer fees, take brooks for example - we probably wouldnt have been promoted if it wasnt for that sale
