Apologies didn't read the full conversation, just one more point & it's one I've made before which is that given the size of the task, expectation levels etc etc, the managerial role at SU is now unlike ever before & consequently the skills, experience & managerial savvy required in order for the manager to succeed is a massive ask.

Good luck Chris.
Agree, and the more we keep getting it wrong the harder the job becomes. It was difficult for Clough taking over from Weir and after the last clear out under Wilson, harder for Adkins and arguably harder still for Wilder.

At least cheap nobbers are easy to dump.
I'd actually say it'd be a similar scenario to overpaid players.

The current players may be on cheap contracts compared to the contracts the other players were on, but if they turn out cack they won't get many better wage offers from clubs below.

Could be right, depending on how crap they turn out to be. At least they'd be cheaper to pay off than Hammond.

Am I missing something here?
Kevin mc bobar stated not so many moons ago that loans were a thing of the past and not value for money.
I hope to God that the sales will not be swallowed up by paying so called bigger wages to the higher earning championship starlets.
Negative equity.
Over to you kev.
Think he was referring to short term loans where players can disappear
we have 2 season long loans , which apart from making financial sense also means we dont lose any players mid a run

common sense
