George Long is technically sound but his personality seemed to inhibit him. I always thought he played everything very safe to avoid blatant errors, including not coming off his line and only going for shots we'll within his personal range. By that I mean he never made big saves in the top corner or by the post, they were out of his range.

He needs to grow up, toughen up and take more risks and become more assertive. The shrinking violet needs to be the penalty area bully. He has the ability and is physically strong.

McCauley was a speculative signing with next to no first team experience. Our manager and Morgs talked him up, many fans believed them and the lad soon turned from a rising star to a disappointment. He's something in between though Tranmere fans think he's awful.

Development player and we've seen plenty more promising on our own books over the years. The lad was exposed through our managers problems with other players early season and it set him back no end.

Not one for a promotion push at any stage:mad:

I don't think we should give up on Harrison just yet. He needs an experienced centre back next to him to learn from. Much in the same way Harry learnt from Collins. Not sure of the situation at Tranmere, but he didn't get that here.

Two errors from Motherwell goalkeeper George Long allowed Aberdeen to recover from a goal down to secure a hard-earned Premiership victory.
The Steelmen took a first-half lead at Pittodrie when Scott McDonald diverted home a Lee Erwin shot.
Long fumbled into his own net having saved an Ash Taylor header before a mix-up with Louis Laing allowed Adam Rooney in to score the winner.

Similar to how he cost us 2 vital points at home against Exeter.
